Hi all,

Well its not long now until me and the mrs tie the knot, and make her long awaited sv application.

Im confident of success in the application, but one thing is bothering me.

My bank statements show me overdrawn every week, and I have been overdrawn since our relationship began.

If I had not met my girl, my overdraft would most properbly have been paid off by now.

We met last year, then a few months back in England saving, then back over to be with her again, then back home saving, then back over again, so on and so on.

With me taking care of my girl for a year, saving for my visits to see her, taking care of myself and paying the most stupid amounts of phone bills each month, leaves it impossible for me to get the overdraft down.

After all, the overdraft is mine, its not as if im borrowing money I should not.

I have always had an overdraft since leaving school 10 years ago, and now since my last visit a few months ago, im currently still having to pay the phone bills, take care of myself and the mrs, while buying the rings, paying the sv fee, her air ticket and also saving for our spending money (3 weeks im there).

Thankfully theres no sin sot :o .

So as you can see, reducing my overdraft at this present time is difficult.

When the application will be put forward, my last six months bank statements will show I have been overdrawn.

My agreed limit is £1000, I currently take home after tax each month £1325.

Im currently paying between £250 - £500 a month phone bills and I send to the mrs anything from £200 - £300 a month.

My bank statements clearly show how much I pay for the phone bills, and clearly show how much I deposit to the mrs.

Basically, if this is addressed to the visa officer, all they need to do is take away the cost of the phone bills, and take away the deposits to the mrs, then they will get a rough idea of my funds.

Obviously if my wife to be was to join me, there would be no deposits from my bank account to her in Thailand, and the stupid amounts of phone bills would be reduced to around £30 a month.

So as you can see, reducing my overdraft down, paticulary this year, has almost been impossible.

Taking care of myself, the mrs, buying the rings, phone bills, I will have visited Thailand four times including when we met, so theres four return airtickets there, spending money for these trips, sv fee, so on and so on and so on, well you get the picture that YES it was impossible to reduce it.

I know this, you properbly know this too, but will the embassy see this????

Could there be a slight problem with the overdraft?? after all, the overdraft is an agreed overdraft, its not as if im borrowing money I shouldnt.

Im realy confident with the sv application, but this problem is worrying me a little.

Just for the record, If my wife to be was to join me, after paying everything out, we would have around £965 a month for ourselves.

Thanks all.

With respect, your overdraft is for wimps!

On saying that, have you ever heard of 0844 numbers, about a pee a minute?

And I think you might find the amount you are sending on a monthly basis questioned as well?

My wife has been here in excess of 12 months (just - bliss) and the little 'un, her son from her first marriage to that stereotypical Thai, is currently back in LOS, but you're more generous than me.

Good luck.

Hopefully ECO will take all this into account.

A lot of people are over drawn, you just need to show evidence that you can support her, without recourse to Public Funds.

I will have visited Thailand four times including when we met, so theres four return airtickets there, spending money for these trips,

This takes up a lot of spare cash, hopefully they will take this into account.

The O/D in itself is not a problem, you need to show that you can, without the need for public funds, provide sufficient funds for yourself and your partner.

Just for the record, If my wife to be was to join me, after paying everything out, we would have around £965 a month for ourselves.

If you mean everything, Mortgage/Rent, bills etc you have more than enough in my opinion.

Good Luck

...What is a troll?...

On ThaiVisa, quite often a troll is a poster who, when accused of being a troll, asks “What is a troll?”

A good definition of a troll is as follows:

“An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who intentionally posts controversial or contrary messages in an on-line community such as an on-line discussion forum with the intention of baiting users into an argumentative response.”

1. We talk alot

3. yes I use 08444 numbers

Scotty

If you are using 0844 numbers from a land line (1p/min) then £500 in phone bills will give you 34 days (833 hours) every month to talk to Thailand. which would indicate you don't work or sleep..... I don't think the ECO will believe that

Manhout, 08444 numbers may be 1p from a land line, but I call from my mobile, which costs around 14p per min.

My line rental is £100 a month, with this I recieve 2000mins.

I use these mins with thai phone cards, and when the free 2000mins have finnished, I use the 08444 number.

There is around £100 werth of txts each month too.

So £100 line rental, and £100 in txts leaves £200 before the calls...

The answer is right there Scotty, as to why you can't get your overdraft down.

I have a landline at home, which i never ever use. It is there simply for the Mrs to call home for 1p per minute. It works out much cheaper. Get one now, as when/if she does come over, she will still want to be calling home.

As Mr Bo says you should get a land line or use someone elses land line, with those pre paid cards the land line owner does not have to pay anything if you choose the 0800 access option.

Those 2000 mins cost you £100, so that is 5p/min for being mobile

Still 2000 mins is over an hour a day of talking every day of the month, you really must be in love Scotty :o

Anyway, good luck with your marriage and settlement visa application.
