Cobalt60 Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 I wonder if anyone has an answer as to why SMS messages sent from UK to Thai mobile are not being delivered, then after many many hours all sent SMS will land up on the recipients phone at once. Its been happening now for a couple of days. I feel I should be getting a refund really, but its hard to prove and is not financially a big deal, but it is flippin annoying. Todays batch still not recieved, makes a mockery of it all when you have to phone and ask if SMS have got through
ballbreaker Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Thai mobile wouldn't happen to be DTAC sim?
Cobalt60 Posted November 11, 2007 Author Posted November 11, 2007 One to go I believe. Still not getting through. Drive me mad now
lomatopo Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Lot's of potential issues here not the least of which is that SMS is not a guaranteed service, although you might want to check with your service provider to better understand the terms and conditions of your service. And the recipient should do the same. In fact both of you should follow up with your service providers to make them aware of the problems. My best guess is that one of One-2-Call's SMS gateways is experiencing problems. Or the recipient's phone might be turned off? IS the recipient able to send you an SMS? Is the recipient in good standing (bill paid or with sufficient pre-paid balance, even though in-bound SMSes are free)? There have been several posts over the years about not being able to send SMSes from certain providers in the U.K., to Thailand. My SMSes, sent from the internet or originated on a mobile from outside Thailand seem to get delivered successfully with a nearly 100% rate, from many countries, and to One-2-Call, DTAC, True Move and even Hutch subscribers.
Cobalt60 Posted November 11, 2007 Author Posted November 11, 2007 Thank you for your reply. I have had no trouble up until the last few days with this phone number in Thailand and SMS come to my phone ok from it. My phone will get SMS through to another colleague in Thailand, but he is on DTAC Happy, so I guess a problem with One to go is the most likely. The phone recieves my voice calls, but not sms, just trying to get them to talk to service provider in Thailand, if they are in on a Sunday.
