Still no sign of DIDIT founder

PHUKET: The family of Briton Eric Wells have asked that anyone who has seen him since the evening of Friday, July 4, get in touch with them immediately.

Mr Wells and his wife Linda are co-founders of Dogs In Distress In Thailand (DIDIT), which looks after stray dogs in temples around the island.

Mr Wells went to feed dogs at Wat Para, near the Gibbon Rehabilitation Center, at about midday on July 4. He was seen at Lotus at about 1pm, and made a collection of food for dogs from Robinson at 2:20.

Mr Wells was driving a old white Toyota Corolla, with a Phuket license plate, GorGai KhorKai 6737. The car has the word “DIDIT” stenciled on the doors on both sides and on the windshield, and the initials “WSPA” on the front of the hood.

He was due to pick up food from The Metropole hotel and the Royal Phuket City Hotel later on Friday afternoon, but did not.

He was, however, seen traveling west along Wichit Songkhram Rd at about 2:35, and then again going south along Chao Fa West Rd shortly after, near Wat Chalong.

The only other reported sighting was the same day, when he was seen going past the Bangkok Phuket Hospital in the direction of the Tesco-Lotus supercenter.

No further sightings on Saturday or Sunday were reported.

Anyone who has seen Mr Wells or the car is asked to call Guy Wells immediately at either Tel: 09-6985933 or 06-5957588. The family are offering a reward for information leading to him being found. The British Embassy has been informed.

Missing Briton found safe in Krabi

KRABI: Missing Briton Eric Wells has turned up safe in a guest house in Krabi, his son told the Gazette this evening.

Guy Wells said that he had spoken by phone with his father, who was unharmed, but that the reasons why he had ended up in Krabi were not clear.

He also thanked all those who had gone out looking for Mr Wells, or who had phoned in with information giving clues that had led to him being found.
