Visa Run From Near Malaysian Border

Featured Replies

Greetings all. Im going to ride down to the malaysian border and then get a mini bus or whatever from there to Penang. Can anybody tell me where the nearest place I can do this. I dont want to get to the border and then not be able to get a ride. Someone said to ride to Hat Yai and then organise a bus but Id like to get as close as possible to the border. Any reccomendations for a visa run company near to border would be great. Cheers in advance again people. :o

you can get a share taxi from king's hotel in hat yai 350 baht leaves 9 30 morning

or mini bus opposite king's hotel 230 baht

The travel agencies in Hat Yai will sell you a ticket to Penang in the minibus

Hat Yai is the transportation center for the area. You can find mini vans (many), share taxi (which you can charter yourself), and regular bus service. This is only about an hour drive from the border and is where most people arrange transportation and it is the bus/train/plane center.

You do not say if you need a new visa, or are simply doing a border run.

If is the latter, I believe you can do a boat trip to Burma from Ranong, a little way north of Phuket.

Hi guys, I kow Hat Yai is where most of the visa run companys operate from its just I was hoping to ride to the border with Malaysia. Do you think I could get on a mini bus there rather than Hat Yai? I would rather spend a bit longer on the bike than an hour in a mini bus. Cheers guys :o
