Does Thailand Still Allow A 1yr Visa If You've Worked 3yrs?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if the immigration police still permit a one year "traveling" visa if you've been working legally in Thailand with the same company for three years? This visa did not require money in the bank, or air ticket, etc.

Thanks in advance for any information. Jim.

ps. A different topic, has anybody worked out the approximate success rate of the resident visa and is more difficult to obtain if you're not married or no children? I understand the quota is normally around 100 persons from the "developed countries" but has anyone heard how many people apply each year?

Have never heard of any such thing and Immigration does not issue any visas except as a basis for extensions of stay that I am aware of. If you end employment from one year extension of stay you have 7 days to leave the country.

PR almost always requires income tax payments in the 80k per month area from most reports. There is an extensive thread here:

Do you mean 80,000 baht tax paid per month ? (That would be almost a million baht per year !)

Perhaps you meant 80,000 baht per month taxable income ?

Otherwise only rich guys have any chance.

Nail... Head.. Hit..

Yes. Payment on income in the monthly 80k range or above is expected.
