Have 60day Tr In Passport Valid From Jan 30, 08 Onward

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

Sorry for the long title.

It's a new situation for me and I can't find a sure answer after combing the forum for an hour.

So I just got a tourist visa (from a Thai consulate in the States) for 60 days that is valid from the end of January onward. However, I would like to get to LOS before then.

Would they give me a VOA without voiding my TR?

That is, would I get a 30day visa upon arrival, leave the country at the end of that period, and then re-enter on the TR that I already have in my passport?

I haven't used up my 3 consecutive VOA.

Many thanks!

Cheers,

Macx

I've never heard of anyone getting a post-dated tourist visa. Normally they are valid for 3 months from the day of issuance.

Are you sure about that date?

It is very unusual for a consulate to post date a visa.

I suspect it says, Must be used by 30th Jan, so you will

have no problem entering earlier, in fact you must use it before that date.

Ooops!

You're right. I couldn't read her handwriting. Yep, that's no problem then. Off I go!

Thanks!

Immigration usually will not issue a 30 day stay and reserve the formal tourist visa.
