Hello Everybody,

I have a big problem. I am German. Also my passport. I am 30 Years old. I married with my wife 7 Years now. We wanna live in Thailand.

We work on a Cruiseship since 4 Years. Now we start to give up everything in Germany.

Now we are in the Karibean Sea and our flight to the holiday in our new home will come soon. We not have a place of residence at this moment, because we cancel already 4 month ago our in germany.

The Problem is me (the German man):

I have no tourist visa, because here is no embassy for make it. in two weeks my flight (company pays it/ CRUISESHIP) will go to thailand with a stay of 2 month. The return ticket i will get from my company in about 6 weeks.

How can i visit thailand with out a visa???

Can i get in thailand one???

I cannot change my flight, and i no have a return ticket - what can i do???

Do you now the have a thai-embassy here in the Karibik:

1Marigot Bay/St. LuciaRoseau/DominicaTue2St. John's /AntiguaWed3Gustavia/St. BarthélémyThu4At SeaFri5La Guaira/Venezuela Sat6Oranjestad/ArubaSun7Willemstad/CuracaoMon8At SeaTue9Cartagena/ColombiaWed10El Porvenir(San Blas)/PanamaThu11Puerto Limon/Costa RicaFri

This ports i will arrive, and of course i will have time for a longer trip (2-3 ours with taxi, to go to the embassy, if it is far little bit)

What is the plan for me. Can i visit thailand without a visa?? Get I 30 days for free?? Did i have to go to Singapore for make a Visa??

Can I get in singapore a Visa for Thailand??? How long it will take than???

Please help me, i dont know what i have to do!!

Thank you for our cooparation!

Best Regards,

Uli

You will receive 30 days visa exempt entry but you need a ticket out so would suggest you buy a low cost ticket on AirAsia or other carrier to Singapore or KL within the 30 days allowed. If you have your company ticket by that time you should be OK for a new 30 day visa exempt entry with just a turn-around - if not spend a couple days (submit morning/pick up next afternoon) and obtain a single entry tourist visa for your second entry. Expect your wife might enjoy the trip also.

Aaahh, ok thank you very much i understand.

MAybe I will do that....but what you think of the idea:

I spoke to my company, if they can book an extra flight BKK-Singapore/ Singapore-BKK for me (on the same day of normal arrivel to Bangkok)

That will be Ok for my company (of course I have to pay it)

Than I want stay one night in Singapore, make a tourist Visa an next day I go back to BKK. (just go directly to Singapore for make a tourist visa/ transit some hours in BKK Is that a good Idea? Can I get so fast a tourist visa in Singapore? Or is there a problem because it is the neighbor country and they not give visa???

How much will cost a cheap flight from Bkk to singapore (around-trip) with AIRAsia, ....,....,.....,???

Thanks for futher information!

Best regards,

Uli

How much

I think it may end up costing you more if you let them book flight - you will need to allow two work days to obtain visa - apply in morning one day and pick up afternoon next workday. So check for any holidays in Thailand and host country.

AirAsia price varies greatly depending on when booked - early booking can be very cheap. Use there web site to price them for your dates. If you have the ticket out within 30 days you will not have a problem getting a visa exempt stamp in Bangkok so you don't have to do on your arrival day unless it more convenient for you.

I think this might help. Just book a tix to Singapore on/about your 29 day stay in Thailand. Stay in Singapore a couple days, then just come back to Thailand and you will get another 30 day stay free. This way you won't have to apply for a visa at any time.

Am I right Lopburi?

That's what I suggested in post 2 but it only works if he has a ticket out of Thailand and if he does not receive it for six weeks he will not so he then has the option to buy a tourist visa while in Singapore. Although the airlines may well not check on a short haul trip, they might.

Thank you very much for your helps.....

I spoke to my company - i will hopefully get a flight about 29 days after first arrival of Bkk to Singapore (go and back). I think now also that this is the best and cheapest way for me.

Last question please.....is it ok to make the Visarun (after 29 day of first arrival bkk) at the same day (same day ..go an come back..) or I have to stay in singapore for a couples of days???

Greetings & best Regards,

Uli

you are able to come back the same day. but remember, when you come back, you will need to show proof of exit from thailand within the next 30 days.

Depends on what you consider the visa run.

If by visa run, you just mean a border run, to just fly to Singapore and back on the same day, re-entering Thailand on another 30 visa exempt stamp, then you can do it on the same day if flights allow. One thing to consider, is that if you do it on the same day, and you want to stay 60 days total, you might have problems because the day you exit and return will be counted twice, once for the first 30 days and once for the second 30 days. You might wind up a few days short for your 60 days. And as mentioned above, you may need a outward bound ticket within 30 days. I say "may need" becuase the airline might let you on without it, and immigration might not ask you for it. But more than likely the airline will want to see it before letting you on the plane.

If you mean that you will be getting an actual visa from the Thai embassy in Singapore, you will need to turn your passport into the embassy in the morning, and return the next afternoon to get it back. So you would not be able to do this in one day.

it will be ok, because I will stay all in all 54 days in BKK (arrivel and depature day included).

I will arrive 13th Jan Bkk - 10th feb I will make a one/ two day trip to singapore - 6th of march I will go to Manila.

The Ticket/ Conformation for Singapore I will have already on arrival 13th Jan on BKK.

And the Ticket/ Conformation to Manila I will have some days before my trip to Singapore.

So I will make it, and so I´m on the right site.

Thank you all so much for your help´s - also I will help someone else, if I can......!

ps.....if somebody know, that my plan (describe in this post) will not work because of any reason, please tell me!!!

Best regards and a happy new Year 2008,

Uli
