Extending Tourist Visa In Patong

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am currently staying in Patong and need to extend my Tourist Visa by 21 days (it expires on the 27th Jan and I'm not leaving until the 17th Feb).

Can I go to Patong or Phuket Town immigration office to get an extension or will I need to do a Visa run this week?

Thanks in advance.

You can not extend more than 7 days inside Thailand.

If it's a 60 day tourist visa you obtained at an thai embassy in another country, you can extend it by a further 30 days, but, you'll have to go to Phuket Town to do it.

If it is the 30 day stamp you got at the airport, you can extend 10 more days, then you have to leave the country.

It's a 30 day Visa On Arrival. Didn't have time to get my usual 60 day visa when I was home at Christmas.

Thanks Guys, looks like I'm going to Ranong.

Just for the record, you have a 30 day visa exemption stamp, not a visa on arrival.
