Non-immigrant Visa B

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am now staying in Phuket with a tourist visa. I found a job here a few days ago and now I need to go to KL to get a non-immigrant visa B. And it's very confusing about what papers I need to bring with me...

According to the info I got from the Internet and the immigration office here in Phuket, I need :

1) a valid passport, pictures

2) the contract that I signed with the thai company who will employ me (contract that details the company's owers names, capital, etc..)

3) a WP3 form that the company needs to collect in the employment office.

Anything else ???

On some web sites, they mention that I need to bring a work permit but my understanding is that to get the WP, I need the non-B visa ! So what ? Am I totally dumb ? :o

I do not wish to travel to KL and found out that I miss a paper...

Thank's for all the help you can give me (if you're not sure of your answers, please do not reply, I don't want to get more confused that I already am! ahah).

A bit desperate Chris

I am not sure of my answer as it is specific to Penang as of today in another post but will probably cover KL requirements:

For employment purposes

1. Copy of passport and two recent photographs

2. Copy of academic degree(s) or curriculum vitae

3. Original letter of recommendation of the company/employer stating the reason for employment, position and salary.

4. Copy of the company's registration certified by authorized director(s), if teaching-school registration duly certified.

5. Copy of list of company's shareholders(s) (if any)

6. Copy of Memorandum of Association/company's Regulation (if any)

7. Copy of the company's latest income tax statement (Por. Ngor.Dor50 and 30)

8. Copy of the company's latest regulation of value added tax (por. Ngor 20)

9. Copy of the Company's latest balance –sheet

10. List of expatriates and foreign workers employed by the company (specified by name, nationality and position)

11. In case of exporting company, bill of lading or bank statement(s) indicating exporting transactions is required.

12. Original Copy of the 'Application Receiving Form' WP.3 from the Department of Employment- a must or work permit.

Thank's a lot for your reply. I seems that a lot of these documents will have to come from the company that will employ me. One last question : if I get in the embassy the morning, I can receive the visa on the next day, right ?

That is normally the case but check to be sure no holiday involved in either country.

Yes, you should.

The sooner the better.

Yes they will love you in The Philippines. First young lady lures you in, then you get slipped a mickey, and wake up in a back alley missing all of your valuables. Or they will just grab you off the street and roll you. And if they think you have a lot of money the Abu Sayyaf Group would be happy to hold you for ransom. If it wasn't for having a police chief in Cebu as a brother in law, and a high government official as a sister in law, you wouldn't catch me on the streets of Manila or Cebu City. I am afraid that my wife's home can't hold a candle to the LOS.

And did I mention the rampant corruption? If a security guard at the airport likes something you have, they tell you you can't take it on the plane, and keep it for themselves. And as for government officials think "Tea Money" and times it by 1000.

Cheers

GunnyD
