torrenova Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 I was married in Japan where you sign a form and as soon as it is deliveed to the local government you are legally married. You do not even have to be there and actually I was in the Uk at the time. I was divorced in Japan the same way, just by signing a form. I was also divorced in the UK by my ex wife (don't know why - no need). Anyway, I have a copy of the Decree Absolute but have never seen the original. Do they give one to both parties ? So, if I give out this information, will they decline to register because of the copy Decree Absolute or not. If so, what if I just don't mention it as to my knowledge, the marriage was never registered in the UK. Certainly I never did it and I know my ex never did it while we were together. What do you think ?
