What To Do In Khao Lak

Featured Replies

Hi, i live in Phuket, i would like to go only for 1 day in Khao lak, what is interesting to see there, is the beach is nice?

Thanks for your advice

Hope someone with some local knowledge of Khao Lak can chip in with some useful info for you Fred. Not been there myself, although I intend to drive up and have a look at it myself some time this year. This may be a starting point for you:

The best beach is at Bang Niang, at the northern end of Khao Lak. Pakkarang cape at the very northern end is also a nice place to visit. There are various waterfalls such as Chong Fah waterfall and Sai Ruang waterfall. Much more detailed information can be found on my website, which can be accessed through my profile on thaivisa.com. Once you are on the site scroll down, the top part gives info about my resort, and the part below gives a lot of general information about Khao Lak and its sights.

Probably the best resource for the area is www.KhaoLakLovers.com - with maps of the beach areas and even scans of the local businesses.

My experience would be that Nang Thong Beach in Baan La On would be the best of the beach area - but yes, Bang Niang is quite nice too.
