I read about, bugs, lizards, rats, mice, Muggings, pickpockets, rape, assullt, drugs, and murder to name but a few

At least in the UK we don't get the bugs, unless you live on a council estate.

I think most men I have spoken to go to live in Thailand for the sex with young pretty girls. I am not condeming this but lets tell the truth. It will be the main reason I am visiting Thailand soon.

Everyone comes to Thailand for different reasons, "recreation", lifestyle , business , work posting(diplomats, MultiNat. expats), tourism etc...

You can live like a Sultan or live like a backpacker, it is entirely up to you.

You can be the master of your mind and environment or you can succumb and get kicked to the gutter and end up as a poster on Stickmans website.

Up to you.

Hi-ho Silver. Yes, Thailand is a great place to live. The frogs are a bit noisy in the rainy season, and the ghekkos can be a pain to get rid of, and you need to keep the kitchen very, very, clean to stop the ants trooping in and carting off your old food.

But one of the best aspects of living here is the service industry:

When I want my truck washed, I can get it cleaned inside and out, vacuum cleaned inside, hand dried and polished, tyres cleaned, wheels cleaned and even the chrome cleaned for 130 baht.

When I want a new gas bottle for the kitchen gas burners, I call the man down the road and he's here in 5 minutes.

When I wanted my DVD player fixed, I took it to a local shop, asked when it would be ready and he said, not "next Tuesday", but 8 o'clock (2 hours later).

And when I want my grass mowed, the man comes with three or four other people who cut the grass, trim the edges, sweep up the cuttings and take it all away, for 300 baht.

And then, of course, there's the people, the food, the weather, the low prices, ..... :o

It's a <deleted> place to live. Don't come here. Stay away. You'll get murdered and robbed. the girls'll pick you clean of every baht. You'll be sweating to death under a slow spinning fan paying 100 baht a day for a 10ft by 10ft ckicken wire ceilinged

box on Kaosan Road. Eyeless beggars holding half starved babies will be pleading for that last bit of sticky rice. Stay away brother, stay away! :o

Why don't you ask your mates instead of wasting bandwidth here?

Or read on other websites which cater to the likes of sextourists?

The girls are one of the most obvious initial attractions, and by that I dont mean just the available for hire bargirls but the 1000's of slim, attractive, slow eyed beauties, that have a totally different attitude to looking after thier man (but require being looked after both finantially and emotionally... They do require a lot of attention)... Asian women are a breed apart..

That said look at this post I just made http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?ac...=30#entry171365

Thais are in general a friendly easy going bunch.. The climate is superb (good bye socks and underwear).. The islands are still loveley.. Its not too 3rd world to be able to find all your needs (broadband / imported goods / etc)... Cost of living... food... Service you gte for money spent.. etc...
