I heard a lot about somyos, but I can't find much information about him in internet. I have looked at his website, the works he done is very impressive. I have contacted him and he recommended me to have rhino and chin implant.

Who is the best surgeon for the nose job? Greechart, Preecha, Poomee or somyos ?

I want the style is natural, good looking but unchange my face, no high ,no fake.

sweetbambi..i think sampan answered the exact same questions for me. just take the time to read through the thread. might help.

Hi i'm new here, I'm from Indonesia.

I really really want to get my nose done, i have a wide nose, and not so tall nose bridge,

my eyes are ok, i'm not chinese but more like a local Indonesian people with wither skin.

I'm looking for a good PS in Thailand.

i want a natural looking nose and a subtle result.

no HIGH bridge, and i don't want to go to narrow & pointy.,

I heard that Dr. Preecha is good, also Dr. Somyos Kunachak..,

Then i emailed them,

and finally, they replied my email

i got replies from both doctors, ( dr. preecha & somyos ),

it's weird cuz they reply the email in the same day ( yesterday ).

been waiting for almost a week.,

both PAI & Yoskarn suggested me to take rhinoplasty and alarplasty.,

i gave them my pictures so they can suggest the best procedure for me

Dr. Somyos replied my email,he said:

"You have a nice proninent forehead contour ,this make your nasal bridge appear relatively low. This traslate into the neccessity of using the implant. Thus the nose jobe involve.

a Tip plasty

b.L shape implant

c.Alarplasty

the price is $3500 usd include 2 night in our facility.

2.Your lower lip reduction is apporpriate ,however the upper may be your option ,since it is not that thick.

The cost for lower lip is $450 each under local anesthesia unless you combinded with nose surgery .We will do your lip surgery under gerneral anesthesia with the price $450 . Ohterwise if you prefer lip surgery under IV sedation the price is $800 usd with 1 night"

As for Dr. Preecha,

He costs me USD800 for Rhinoplasty

and USD 550 for Alarplasty.

why it's much cheaper than Dr. Somyos????

now i'm a bit confuse., cuz i want to safe money too., >.<

Is L-Shaped implant would be fine?

what i'm afraid of implants are:

1. i'm afraid it'll make my nose look too pointy..

2. my nose look unatural

3. hardness of nasal tip

4. n so on..

i'm actually happy with round tip which look more natural.. but more defined would be nice

here i give you my pic:

rqz1op.jpg

can anyone suggest what would look good and what's not?

i want a natural look, no fake looking, no HIGH bridge, a bit higher is ok..

anyone have some reference noses pictures that suits me well??

if you don't mind please share with me since i just started my research from now..

I really appreciate if you'd share some before-after photos.

please PM me or email me ( will give you my email by PM )

thanks before =D

What looks good is what you have already. Please don't take the risk of messing up the nice natural look you have right now.

Hi!

Foxxie, I just want to say that i think your nose looks lovely and you look like an already very beautiful girl!

But if you feel you want to enhance anything and have the money for it, you should do it. :)

I had upper eyelid surgery (I am thai but have more chinese eyes) at Yanhee hospital 3 months ago and i am very pleased with the result. Dr Greechart did the surgery.

I just want to warn you so you know, that IF you decide to go to Yanhee it is like a beauty surgery-factory - in every way!

There are rows of beds with people lying, (after they get their sedative pill,) waiting for eyelid surgery or nose surgery.

I had booked my appointment in advance with a lady called Carmen, very nice lady!

-I was there at 10AM, had the surgery about 14 o'clock, left the hospital around 16-17 o'clock in the afternoon.

There were lots of people there and if you want to have your surgery the same day (eyelid or nose) you need to be there at 10AM, i was told.

-Weight, bloodpressure was checked. I payed and got the medication (antibiotics, ointment for the wound and painkillers).

I also signed some medical forms about any previous conditions or medication i might take.

-I had a consultation with Dr.Greechart and he asked me if i wanted small, medium or large eyelids. I chose medium.

He made some markings with a red and blue pen and i also had to lie down so that he could see what it would look like as my face was relaxed.

-Later on i was given the sedative pill. As i was given the sedative pill, i fell asleep but woke up a bit later.

-Then they rolled me in for surgery. They cleansed my face again and put a needle on my right hand.

-Then they put some sort of "eyedrops" in the eyes and everything goes white and blurry.

If feels as if you have your eyes filled with vaseline or some thick white cream.

Although i was sedated i could feel when the doctor made the incision on my eyelids.

It did not hurt at all but i could feel that the skin was moving. (Difficult to describe the feeling)

There was also a little smell/scent or burned skin, so i guess he was using laser for the surgery.

When i woke up afterwards, i felt a abit sick and i vomited one time.

I was lying with plasters on my eyelids and a cold pack to reduce as much as possible of the swelling.

I was there with a friend and i am so lucky i was not alone.

It was very difficult to see anything under the plasters and you might feel a bit dizzy after the drugs they give you.

Bring sunglasses with you, the bigger the better. It felt lovely to have them as i was leaving the hospital.

After two days you can remove the plasters and clean the wound with warm water.

Put on the ointment (cream) morning and evening.

I was surprised there was so little pain. I only took one painkiller and that was immediately after i woke up, since i did not want any "pain chock" as the hospital drugs went away. After that no more painkillers.

I was swollen for 2 days and had almost no bruising at all. Just a little yellow just at the cornder under each eye.

I used the ointment evenly, sometimes more often than morning and evening to make sure the wound did not get dry from aircon etc.

More things to think about:

Please, take the instructions from the hospital seriously.

DO NOT BEND FORWARDS AT ALL during the first week.

I know it sounds silly but PLEASE SIT DOWN as you put on your shoes.

IF a bleading should occur inside the eye, you can go blind and it HAS happened to some i read about.

And don't forget to sleep with your head high during the first week, I used two pillows because i didn't have anymore at home.

Now after 3 months the scars are almost not visible anymore.

They are hidden in the fold that was created and the symetry of the eyelids are just great!

This is just my experience, thanks for your time.

Take care

Hi Comehome! =D

Thank you for sharing your experience..,

and congratz for your successful surgeon, so happy =D

Yes you're right, i'm already happy with my appearance but if it's possible to make it 'better', i will do it.

I'm going to thailand maybe next year on June, hopefully i can think and make a right decision for my surgery..

besides, i need to collect more money..

i hope we could meet after everythings done =D

thank you once again,

i'm very grateful =)

Hi Foxxie!

Thank you and i hope we can meet too when you come to Thailand!

That would be great! :)

When it comes to choosing doctor, remember to choose the doctor and not the hospital.

I was very pleased with the result i got from Dr.Greechart at Yanhee but all the "circus" around it was a bit exhausting.

"Double Eyelid surgery , nose surgery and breast augmentation are the three most common surgical beauty procedures in Thailand", my friend said.

I know eyelid surgery isn't a big and/or complicated surgery but i couldn't help feeling a bit nervous about it anyway.

Take care,

/comehome :D

I've never seen nose surgery on a normal (not disfigured) Asian that looks "better" or natural. It immediately shouts NOSEJOB and "I have a problem w/ vanity and money management, so better avoid me for any serious relationship."

A lot of BAs look bad, too, but most in Thailand are the el-cheapo variety. Personally I always prefer natural; so do many other guys.

The eyelid jobs seem to turn out pretty well on extremely "slanted" eyes. It's a simple and well-defined procedure. Otherwise, again not worth doing.

The best hospitals in Thailand are probably Bangkok Hospital and Bumrungrad hospital. The next price down from there, you would need to look at Yanhee hospital which does a lot more operations, but the hospital isn't as nice as Bangkok or Bumrungrad. You can get price comparisons on a web site such as Mediseekers or Treatment Abroad. The plastic surgeons in Bangkok are highly skilled. Just remember to ask them how many operations they have performed and be realistic about what you want to gain from the surgery.

for nose find a good doctor.

Preecha (PAI) is good.

Poomee at Bumrungrad is good(dont be surprised if he says he cant or is busy when he sees your photos or suggests nothing)

Somyos Kunachak is awesome for nose jobs at yoskarn.

and ofcourse it depends on what methods you will want to undergo reducing nose flap removing hump augmenting bridge or tip correcting alignment narrowing the nose etc

I dont live in Thailand but Im quite keen on doing my nose, eyes and buccal fat removal there. I was born with double eyelids but over the years with stress and family problems, it started looking smaller and my upper eye lid started sagging. Im only 20 and I feel so terrible about myself! Schoolmates crowned me the belle of the school, but that stresses me out even more and I feel like Im constantly at attention and probably criticism. And Im bad at taking negative feedbacks.. Contrary to what they say, I thought ps would boost my personal self esteem a bit more.

I dont know about Somyos doing good double eyelid surgery but I read jackoneilone's comments and I know he's good for nose. I went to Somyos's website and his qualifications are mostly certificate of attendances? But the pictures he posted up on the website looked pretty good for eyes and nose.. I emailed him and his replies usually come within the same week. Anyway, I sent him a picture of myself as requested and he quoted me the price and brief procedures. I dont know if it works the same for all of you out there who are interested, but his quote for me was:

nose: $3500 usd including 2 nights

upper blepharoplasty: $1200 usd

buccal fat removal: $1000 usd

Just for fun I asked about boob implants: $3500 usd including 2 nights

And all he told me about buccal fat removal (cheek fat removal) was that Asians reponded well to this procedure. Well that helped alot? I dont see pictures for it on the website though. Anyone did buccal fat removal at anywhere before? do you have a before and after picture you can sweet pretty please mail me?

I know yanhee is famous for celebrities and its website is pretty black and white- All the costs for the procedures are up, but i heard too many unsatisfied cases for it and it turns me off. It is absurdly cheap though. If it interests you, there is this youtube video on yanhee clinic by this lady from the US if my memory didnt fail me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywl46MlrdIg

So yanhee in my opinion is off.

While I was researching Bumrungrad, it sounds costly and all they talk about is their service and hospitality and all they dont really show the outcome.

Anyone know more about preecha (PAI)??

Any Thai people here who can give advice or experienced ps in Thailand?

Must I really wait 2 weeks before I can return to my country after the procedures.. cause thats dreadful.

Hi Gemma Mccarron!

What sort of seminar was that?

I don't mean to be rude, i am just intereseted in learning more about it, that's all. :)

Yanhee hospital is in fact a plastic sugery factory.

Do you have any experience yourself from plastic surgery?

Would love to hear more about your experiences. :D

And do you know anything about prices on surgery and what kind of guarantees they offer at Samitivej?

Would be lovely to have something to compare with.

thank you in advance,

take care,

/comehome :D

It was a seminar conducted at a different leading hospital regarding 'Plastic Surgery Gone Wrong.'

Would love to tell you more but i have been accused of being on Dr Chartchai's payroll by the powers that be!

You'll just have to contact the hospital directly, yes i have got personal experience and i am pleased but dare not say more!!

Multiple postings with commercial url links, on the other hand, leads to suspicion of spamming. Perhaps unfounded in your case but we do see plenty of it on this forum.

I went to Yanhee for a procedure and was not too happy with it. I will have this procedure redone.

I went to Somyos Kunachak at Yoskarn for a couple of different procedures and LOVED the results. In fact, I am returning to him this spring and two of my best friends are coming with me to get their surgeries done by him too. His staff is also amazing. They do take a while to respond to emails, and you may wait a loooooong time in the waiting room, but it's worth having patience to see him. I love the man!

I consulted with Poomee at Bumrungrad and was originally considering going with him. He has a great reputation.

I would suggest making appointments with at least 3 of the surgeons and THEN deciding based on who you feel the best about. I had all three of my consultations scheduled for the same day.

I was by myself for that trip to Thailand, and I'd never had surgery before, but my experience was amazing!

What country are u from? Gosh Im glad u think yorksarn is great. Im considering yorksarn myself. What surgery did u have done at yorksarn? Have u consulted preecha(PAI) too?

I would advise against having general anesthesia in a clinic setting. If you have a general, have it done in a hospital.

Re price difference, when I was pricing a different procedure for a friend a few months ago, Dr. Somyos' cost was significantly higher than anywhere else, even the top end hospitals. So it may be that he just costs more than most. Also, if Dr. Preecha's quote did not include an implant that would also contribute to a price difference since Dr. Somyos' did.

It is hard to settle these things via email, you really need to meet face to face with the doctors and make sure they clearly understand the look you are seeking.

It is common in Thailand for Thai women to have nose implants that result in a totally non-Asian appearing nose, to look at them you can't even guess their nationality or even if they are Asian. Personally I don't care for that look, and sounds like you are after something a bit more natural. So just need to be sure to communicate that to the doctor.

keynote:

it all depends at the end of the day on what you actually want done.

if ur procedure is complicated or multifaceted or a revision then Somyos would be the guy. If its relatively simple then why not save money and get another good surgeon to do it?

Upper Bleph is relatively easy.

BA transaxillary, Greechart or Preecha.

Id say IF u were doing BA then the same skilled surgeon can do the eyes too. If its a complicated nose or a revision then somyos.

Buccal fat ud want to be careful with.

You can save money and still get the best surgeons for the applicable procedures.

Hey Jack!

Are u from Thailand? hmm.. Im not too sure what BA transaxillary is..

Isnt buccal fat removal gonna be done through the insides of the cheeks? I understand there are alot of nerves there, though scar wise it's hidden. Somyos sound as if he did alot of such surgery. Somyos charges 3500usd for the nose. You think Greechart or Preecha does better natural nose at a cheaper price? I haven seen their portfolio and patient outcome pictures yet though. They dont seem to show on preecha's site. I guess its really natural to feel nervous about the outcome, so I'd really love to see photos of the patients.. Have u personally done surgery? gosh i guess im asking u alot of questions but u seem to know alot here =)

Hi

No im ozzie. That method of BA is done through the armpit ie incision is in the armpit and no marks at all on or near the breast region.

Yes buccal fat pad removal is done via a small incision inside the mouth on either side and it generally heals really well. You would just want to note if you like before/after photos of others who have done it. Personally I like it would buccal fat but some dont. Yes there are a lot of nerves but buccal fat pad is quite simple, small incision behind cheek and you can instantly see the yellow egg yolk like pad and you slowly pull it all out and excise it, then stitch the incision and done. Nerve damage is not a concern because its relatively un-invasive, they generally dont dig inside your cheeks etc but just pull the fat pad out and snip.

Im sure Somyos has done a lot of them as im sure those other surgeons I have mentioned would have too.

I dont know what your ethnicity is. I dont know your facial structure. I dont know what type of procedures you may wish or require. Hence I cant say if somyos's price is best for you.

eg if your of asian descent and your only issue is you want a more prominent tip and bridge then most would use an L shaped implant and for that Id say save your money and get it done with either Preecha or Greechart.

It all depends on the complexities of your case.

Yes between me and partner we have done quite a few. Then I know many many more who have done procedures etc.

Hi Jack!

1. Seems that you are the master of plastic surgery information :)!

I want to know about skin centers or good dermatologists in bangkok. I have deep acne scars and moles, which I want to remove...... deep embosses by the T-Zone disturb me a lot. I went to a lot of dermatologist, but they don't have a lot experience with asian skin! So they afraid, that a laser treatment could make some more embosses.....

I want to have clear bright skin. How would they do that? are any good skin centers?

Could you help me? I'll so greatful.

2. O.k this is much diffucult but I to ask you too. A friend of mine is just 5'0.25 (1.53) she's almost 20 year old but wants to be 1.63 (5'3)! She's suffering that she's so short. She want to "grow"! I've heard it's popular in asia to help little women grow....with hormon or what?

My question is are their some method? Too risk? or all that is a rumor?!

Thanks forward to sharing your info! best regards rachel

1. I know of some.

Ramathibodi Skin Laser Center which is part of Ramathibodi hospital/dermatology section

There was a really good harvard trained doctor there. I think his name was kittisak or something and runs his own clinic too called radiance i think... They also had a couple of other well trained doctors there too

2. Yes there is. If her growth plates had not closed yet which they most likely have by now (x-ray can confirm) since shes already 20 then she could have taken daily doses of a hormone called HUMAN GROWTH HORMONE. If taken before closure of growth plates HGH can result in height gains ofcourse one needs to be aware of the risks and any side effects etc .

However since they are most likely closed HGH would be useless for growth but excellent for healing abilities in the surgical procedure needed to lengthen her leg bones. They can surgically lengthen her leg bones! This is not a cheap procedure and it is quite painful and uncomfortable and the results are not instant but take time. She could possibly extend her height by upto 12cm. It could take upto 4-6months of daily 1mm bone expansion and then another 6months or more for the bones to solidify and this assumes she has no complications and is healthy and very flexible right now (because she wont be very flexible as you can imagine everything gets stretched tight).

Medically this procedure is used for correcting deformities, trauma or short leg on 1 side etc. Cosmetically its done by a few surgeons(the best ones in the world for this procedure) and is expensive cheapest ~$35,000 and goes upto eg with Doctor Bitz almost $100,000USD or more.

Basically the long bone either femur or tibial is surgically broken/cut and then set into place with rods and nails holding everything in place and aligned. Each day a nob is turned that results in 1mm further extension of the gap between those bones. Slowly the bone lengthens. This can be excrutiatingly painful. The cheaper priced procedure eg with Dr Hetao Xia China uses his own modified external fixator whereas Dr Betz Germany uses a more concealed, less scarring more appealing method which also costs more.

for more info on Hetao Xia

http://www.leg-lengthening.com/index.html

for more on Betz

http://www.betzinstitute.com/

Both sites have tons of info on the procedures etc.

Hi My name is Ray, i had a very bad crooked nose and extremely bent septem. I had surgery first when i was 20 in australia by a leading plastic surgent for atleast 13k. It did not improve my nose and made it worse. I just accepted my nose however 5 years later on holiday i was near bangkok pattaya hospital and got a consultation. I was quoted for 100k baht for rhinoplasty revision after seeing the Doctor Kampanart Tangamatakul, M.D. he gave me a quote for 75k baht. I went ahead with the surgery. This doctor is amazing he literally tranformed my nose and made it appear straight and reduced the bumb and made it look natural. This doctors is the best bar none. And the service in bangkok pattaya hospital is like staying at the hilton. Please consider this doctor I am happy to show you my before and after picture.

I have never had any plastic surgery and am not interest in getting any but have heard a bit about PAI. There are loads of positive testimonials around and I am sure that for most things they do a good job at a competitive price. However, people say that Preecha is now more of a salesman and delegates most of the routine surgery to juniors. Since they now have several branches, this seems logical. Also I knew some one who went to PAI (one of my wife's friends) to have a bad breast enlargement corrected. She was not at all happy with the result and had to go elsewhere to get it corrected again. Admittedly her case was complicated due to the contamination to her own breast tissue caused by the substandard implant but on the other hand Bumrungrad had been much more cautious in doing preliminary examinations and about what could be achieved in her difficult case. Preecha got the job as he seemed very confident and quoted a competitive price.

My other horror story is of the Thai girlfriend of a friend who had a rhinoplasty in a low price hospital in Thonburi. Two days after the surgery she was up all night with a splitting headache that got so bad my friend had to take her to the emergency room (at the same hospital). There she became unconscious and sadly died 12 hours later due to an infection resulting from the surgery. Since my friend had not been with her that long, he left it to her family to pursue damages against the hospital and never found out if they paid up or not.

In my experience most Thai women have pretty noses that are very suitable for their Asian faces already. There are very few cases where rhinoplasty is justified due to a really ugly honker, unlike the West where many women have dreadful aquiline noses they want to get rid of. Whatever you do, do it in moderation. A very small enhancement could improve your looks significantly without creating a big stir. On the other hand most Thai women going for rhinoplasty go overboard and end up disfiguring themselves with a ridiculous thin pointed nose that doesn't look at all natural on an Asian face and makes men look twice to make sure they are not in the presence of a ladyboy.

I would suggest making appointments with at least 3 of the surgeons and THEN deciding based on who you feel the best about. I had all three of my consultations scheduled for the same day.

I was by myself for that trip to Thailand, and I'd never had surgery before, but my experience was amazing!

Hey suzi, please let me know which clinic you'll choose. I am from holland, asian origin. I am considering to go to yoskarn, but still doubtful. Did you plan your trip to thailand already ? when will you do it ?

katie theres much more detail that needs to be known here.

what rhinoplasty will each surgeon do? how much work will they do? will they also reduce? will they narrow the nose? will they use implants? will they modify the tip? will they correct the septum?

Preecha is a good surgeon(personal experience) and so is Poomee but what is each surgeon going to do? give more details so i can help you.

have you seen somyos kunachak at yoskarn? if you havent go see him too. hes excellent and possibly in my opinion the best for noses since he is a professor and specialises in it and does hard cases that others dont or cant.

eg preecha may for that price only do silicone implant augmentation and alarplasty very simple. Poomee might do much more work such as hump removal, bridge augmentation, tip augmentation or lift, tip fat removal, septum alignment, alarplasty, thinning out the nasal tip etc etc etc

Katie..did you do your operation already ? by whom ? Are you happy ? I am from holland, i see info about PS like you. I heard about YANHEE, PLACIDWAY, GOSCULPTURA and YOSKARN. I had a good feeling about yoskarn. But i havent got any reply from yoskarn, it's been a week. Besides i hadnt send them my pics. is that why the write me back so long ? Please let me know, and thanks

so get more details on each surgeons exact procedure.

also since consultation is free go and see somyos kunachak at yoskarn and get his detailed opinion and tell him about the others methods and compare.

he did 3rd revision on partners nose and did an awesome job when poomee wouldnt touch it and preecha said leave it alone. he spent 5hours or so in surgery!!! and looks awesome now. but with augmentation slight hump removal and tip implant and alarplasty you might only spend 1-1.5hours. more extensive work maybe 2- 2.5hours so yes his case was very difficult alar plasty septoplasty fat removal scar tissue removal cartlidge graft thinning out tip etc etc etc very delicate and time consuming work hence the long time.

Hi Sampam,

Thanks for your information. :D

I have email Dr. somyos kunachak at yoskarn, but I am still waiting for his reply.

For my nose, Dr. poomee suggests to reduce of the size of nostrils and to make the nose narrower, also cartilage graft to the tip of the nose to give more projection. Dr. Preecha suggest rhinoplasty and Alarplasty. He doesnt mention much about how much work he is going to do in the surgery. And everytimes I ask his assistant that is it possibe for Dr. Preecha to perform my surgery, his assistant avoids to answer my question. So I am not sure he is the one to perform my surgery or not... :)

I really dont know which one I should choose, specially I havent been to Thailand before. I dont know much about there. And it is a long way for me just go there for consultation. Have you had any surgery in PAI, yosharn and bumrungrad? What kinds ? How's the hospital hygiene and quality? I see some video about bumrungrad in internet, it seems a very nice hospital...

I really really want to fixed my nose, it has been brothering me for many years. I want to find a good surgeon to do it proberly and price is my last concern. :D

Do you know anythings about chin Augmentation? because both doctor suggest chin augmentation may improve my look...

Regards

Katie
