You do not say which country you are from as these things are often done on a country by country basis. I have not see an Aussie type RSL but other nations are represented.

Tropical Berts is the home of the English version. Bert (TV nick Basset) will chime in with information I am sure. Otherwise go and have a beer and ask him Soi 6/1 to find the bar.

There is also a US V.F.W. club. I know this wont help you much but it's located off Sukhumvit Road. I'm sure someone can poist exact directions.

Oh, Gawd !!

"I remember when I was in Sidi Barrani ......"

Look, I've been out there , shot at a lot of guys, hit not a few. Done. Over Another dead parrot.

Who wants to keep re-living the past. Get on with the future.

May be a place to get away from folks like yourself who probably has done it all except fight for your country. Have a nice day............

Fought for my country, fought as a mercenary.

It's just that I've moved on. It was not the crowning moment of my life. That will be tomorrow. It is always tomorrow.

Brian, if you're American, and a war vet, I suggest that you consider joining the largest VFW Post in Asia. You can learn more about it here:

http://www.vfwpost9876.org/

I've known the Commander over 20 years. I just talked to him a couple of weeks ago, from Saudi, and he told me the local Pattaya VFW Post was likely to win the best post in the world award.

Just thought you might find that interesting.

Sorry Brianw, just seen your post. Yes we are now an official branch of the Royal British Legion and meet every Sunday Lunch (2pm onwards) at Tropical Berts, mainly 60s 70s onwards. We now have a few Aussies as there is no RSL and there more than welcome, were helping a WWII digger with some things now. Were off to the River Kwai for ANZAC Day and Malaysia in June for the Malaysian Emergency! service.
