Hello

I am German and stay in Thailand since December 1.

First I had a tourist visa ( 60 days ). After that I was 2 times in Birma (Mae Sai) and got 2 x 30 days.

Is it possible to go there for a 3. time to get more 30 days or do I need a new tourist visa from a Thai Embassy outside of Thailand?

My flight back to Germany will be April, 28

Thank you very much for a quick answer

Yes you can do another 30 day run.

You could have extended your original 60 day Visa for another 30 days at Immigration in Thailand.

Dont get 30 days cos ya flight is still after another 30 days then you would drop in to the 90 days out!

so go back were ever you got your tourist visa and get another, otherwise you will havr problems wosch52!

What calendar are you using? This is the 16th of March - he leaves the 28th of April (if he does not change his mind). He failed to say when his current stay ends but suspect it is probably soon.

i give you one advise how you not run into problems if you want to stay longer, a year or wahatever.

1. to your question ,yes you can do a visarun more, but must have valid return ticket within this 30 days.

but the better way, who i do it, and never have problems, and if any changes come i have still 3 month more to follow.

1. i go to any embassy and get a TR visa.

2. i ente thailand with ONLY 30 day STAMP and tell the oficer dont want to use the visa ( just have to sign for it), this i repeat up to 2 times total 60 days

3. than i enter with my TR visa issued before.

the goodthing is, you always have time to require for new laws or embassy changes. if your 90 day quota full, and than you go outside thailand and you not get a TR visa, you are out !!!!

and i dont need at boarders a returnticket even when i enter with 30 day STAMP, even the airline dont want to see, bcs valid TR visa in passport. this way you can follow the newsflow and always have time ......................

PS and after 3 TR visas in passport, i report the passport ( stolen, washed) and get a 1 yr passport ( just have now) and next week the new 10 yr pasport. at y next visatrip to an embassy my passport is clean again.......... ( embassy only issued new passport if you NOT REGISTERD with your livingadress in germany ( german embassy )

Yes OK. He does not give his exact dates but another 30 day run will likely only take him to 25th April. A few days short.

But his question was could he do another 30 day run. Only he knows exactly how many days he has to obtain.

Here's one for Lopburi, relating to a comment earlier by Litebeer. If you extend a tourist visa by 30 days, are you still entitled to 3 visa exempt entries (90 days) or would the TV extension count towards your 90 days. My understanding has always been that it would not, ie after extending a TV you could still do your 90 days on visa exemptions.

But I read in the local paper, a so called 'expert' from Key Visa company in Pattaya saying you would only be entitled to 2 visa exempt entries (60 days). This guy is always on the TV and in the local rag, even on the radio, so he does have some credibility, but this sounds wrong to me.

Only visa exempt entry (and overstay on them) are counted. If extension of stay was counted every person on one year stay would be in violation.

Yes you can stay 60 on tourist visa, extend visa stay 30 days and then use normal 90 days visa exempt entry.

Dear Lopburi,

If I do a TR 30-day extension, will my last day of the extended 30 days be calculated from the day I present my passport to Suan Plu for extension, OR the expiry date stamped on my passport when I first entered Thailand with the TR ?

That's what I thought. I can't believe this joker is allowed to publish this in the local rag. I wonder how many people's plans have been scuppered due to his 'professional advice'.

From your current stamp date. So always best to do a few days early.

Thank you. Just for knowledge sake, if passport stamp indicates 19 March as my last day, and on 19 March I present my passport for extension or in the case of VISA run, do a border run on 19 March itself, am I considered overstay ?

No. You can stay until that date, but not after it.
