March 24, 200817 yr hi guys where can i get the best rate of interest on money banked in the los. and what would that interest rate be.
March 25, 200817 yr I think this question and topic needs to be moved to the Banking/Investing Forum for better viewing and answers,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
March 25, 200817 yr There is no one single answer. A savings account will pay very little, so you have to look at a fixed (term) deposit account (or alternative investment, but then the risk will usually be higher). You have to check out the major banks, and the rates will vary between these, and also with the invested amount and the time you choose to fix your deposit. But you will hardly become rich by investing like this, and you will most probably get less than inflation. Also remember there is a withholding tax on the interest, I believe it is 15% p.a. on everything above 10,000 Baht. But check this out with the bank, because they will automatically take the tax off your account, so they know the rules. Ah, also remembered that the full deposit insurance will be gradually removed, and end up at only 1 mill. Baht per account and bank. So if you want to invest big amounts, be careful! Good luck!
