Thief Injured in Attempted Daylight Robbery.

In the early hours of Wednesday afternoon police and Sawang Boriboon Rescue volunteers were called to the scene of a road accident which took place in a soi off Third Road in Central Pattaya.

At the scene police found a 34-year-old Thai woman who had been injured, but not severely. Also at the scene was another Thai female who informed police that she had been the intended victim of a robbery by the injured woman and a male accomplice.

She claimed the pair had been riding a motorbike with the injured woman as pillion passenger when they rode past her and the passenger attempted to steal a one-baht value gold chain from around her neck. Naturally, the victim resisted and in the resulting fracas the pillion passenger fell from the moving motorbike and was injured.

Her male accomplice, adhering to the usual code of conduct among thieves worldwide, left his partner at the scene and sped off into the distance.

Police have arrested the female would-be thief and no doubt she will tell officers the name, address, and inner-thigh length size of her erstwhile male friend.
