Recommended Posts

While we're on the topic;

is a doctor's certificate needed for

* your first extension of a Non O visa?

* applying for an O-A visa in a consulate outside of Thailand?

Thanks

The correct answer is it depends on what office you go to for the Retirement Extension. Just go to or call the Korat Office and ask if the Doctor's Cert is required.

The correct answer is .... NO.

Naka.

The correct answer is whether or not the immigration office you use wants it. I use the Chiang Khan office and have needed the certificate PLUS a copy the past three years. I didn't have the copy the last time and he sent me out to get a copy made. My wife says he gives me a hard time because I NEVER take him any gifts.

With the new rules that took effect on 1 October 2006 the medical certificate is no longer required but possibly some immigration officers do not yet know this fact. Even the official website of the Immigration Bureau has not yet been updated.
