my d80 is just a month old. before that i never had a camera and didn't give photography a thought.

in this shot i guess i just got lucky. used an 18-135 @ 135mm lens. shot this in the late morning.

thanks so much.

D80 ....That's a nice camera

I am in the same situation, I am a real amateur, and I just bought a Canon EOS 400 (Kiss) fitted with a 18-55 lense, which I completed with a 55 - 200. I am in discovery process !

You made a nice shot, but my feeling is that the bee is not really outstanding. Maybe a bit more centered would help....Just my "amateur"opinion. I guess that some more "specialist" will help better !!

Welcome to the forum spellboundxy.

That's a good effort for a beginner but might I suggest that the colours and exposure are a bit too contrasty.

I've attached my modification which may appeal to you. I've desaturated it to address the above problem, and softened it also by applying a severe noise filter.

I've also opened up the shadows/background detail to give it a little more depth

Keep the shots coming

hahaha, good one SPXY....Need to learn a bit of bzzzz bzzzz language then, in order to give direction to the model....

Anyway, please keep them coming. We usually learn a lot from these posted shots (own and other's)

Cheers
