Krabi Governor Siwa Sirisaowaluck invites interested parties to join in Krabi’s first International Rock Climbing contest which is scheduled to take place during April 25 – 27th at Tonsai–RaiLey beach. The contests will be divided into 2 categories; Lead Climbing Marathon and Deep water Soloing. The competitors will compete for 400,000 baht cash prizes. Organized by the Krabi Tourist Association in conjunction with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the event aims at promoting adventurous tourism in stunning natural beauty of the Andaman region.

More than 30 international rock climbers took part in the first International Rock Climbing contest held during April 25th- 27th at Ton Sai-Rai Ley of Phra Nang Bay. The participants included climbers from Japan, Singapore, Chile and Ireland. The competition comprised Lead Climbing Marathon and Deep Water Soloing with over 400,000 baht in cash prizes. The event was arranged to promote local tourism in more adventurous styles amidst stunning natural wonders of the region. The bay is visited by hundreds of thousands of travelers annually.
