To what end? Reaction. Why? We are so overloaded with information in this day and age and spend so much time filetering this information, mis-information is just another form of pollution! Human beings are "dirty birds" so I expect it is unrealistic to expect them to "come clean".

Do you lie on this forum

I just tell it how it is, I'm very honest but I keep a little back for myself.

have you ever lied or exaggerated just to get reaction?
Far from it - sometimes the opposite actually.

How about the stories between you and Ning then? also not true? :o

What do you mean?

All true but there were some things I didn't make public that are between us.

Never lied intentionally or aiming to deceive. When it's appropriate in a discussion I do exaggerate, but more to get a useful/interesting discussion going than to just get a reaction.

Why lie on here?

One day it may catch up with you.

That's right. The liar must remember that lie. If it changes over time people will notice.

Marcus from HK didn't, i hope! :o

If you lie you are are only lieing to oneself

Lying and truthfulness are diametrically opposed concepts. Lying involves intentionally making a false statement; truthfulness involves intentionally making a true statement. Of popular interest in lying and truthfulness is how to tell if someone is lying. Technological devices like polygraph tests indicate if someone is lying by measuring physiological signs such as pulse and perspiration, which are closely linked to emotions. Even without such devices, people can learn how to tell if someone is lying. These methods include a close observation of word choice, speech patterns, eye contact, posturing, and other signs in nonverbal communication

The psychology of lies and deceit involves the study of the types of lies as well as the motivations of the people who tell them. Some types of lies are white lies, humorous lies, altruistic lies, aggressive lies, defensive lies, and pathological lies. White lies are generally harmless, such as social politeness. For pathological liars, the line between lying and truthfulness is quite discernible, but the compulsion to tell a lie is overwhelming in spite of any harm that may result. Pathological lies are of particular interest in the psychology of lies and deceit. Psychologists have identified several factitious disorders that involve deliberately telling complicated lies. Other psychological disorders include pathologies where the liar cannot differentiate lying and truthfulness

HAhA! Just reminded me of my favorite scene in a movie of all time...

Pinocchio´s Mission Impossible style rescue of Shrek and donkey in Shrek Two....

Can´t remember exactly, but it Goes something like this....

Pinocchio need his nose to NOT grow at all costs;

Donkey: " Just say something like, you´re NOT wearing ladies underwear!"

Pinocchio: " I´m not wearing ladies underwear"

His nose grows...

Hilarious.

I tell no lies.

Ha!

Nah, don't lie. :D

Been know to misquote and repeat other people's BS, but not an intensional lie. Not very good at 'keeping back some detail to myself' either - I get carried away and give away all my secrets! Wifey would shoot me if she saw what I posted here in the past. :o

I just try to make sense and not offend, so sometimes I will hold back so as not to embarrass others aor start a flaming shootout, so not allways the whole truth. :D
