I decide today not return to one of my usual shop ( Doi Kham Food Product ) for the one who know.

I usually go there 3-4 time a week, ice-cream / vegetable / milk / and drinks.

For the last 4 weeks they are out of ginger drink, I generally get one box, today only 5 cans was available.

For the last 4 weeks I am asking them to order some every time I go there.

Vegetable fridge is full of emptiness, 3 bags of tired salads, and that have been since Songkran.

The Ice-cream freezer is nearly empty.

Shop that was vibrant is now welcoming as (finish the sentence)

I wonder is the patronage of customers is so bad; they need to take this drastic action? Stop ordering?

You have my sympathies. I run into the same problem at the closest reasonably decent shopping place. They stock things for a while and then never again--even though the stuff gets sold out. And the service is atrocious. When you get up to the checkout counters (there are a lot of them), the gals don't have the change in the till yet. But it doesn't matter because no matter what money you give them, they don't have the proper change. Then they have to put paper in the machine. When that's all done, then they take your money and stroll ever so slowly off to get change from the office!

I've taken to driving an addtional 20 km to another store where it's well stocked, seldom out and you can zip through the checkout stands!

Not just in Bangkok. The distribution system, and the ordering and stocking of inventory, often does not function normally. Realtors and landlords raise prices when they cannot sell or rent properties. Staples like diet cola disappear for many days, or they limit you to six 1.25 liter bottles per purchase. We try to buy 48 or 60 bottles per month, and take the truck so we can handle 4 or 5 cases. No, go through the checkout counters six to ten times, after finding the first two big stores had nothing in stock.

There are computerized computer programs for inventory management, at all levels of supply. Any storeclerk can spot a nearly empty freezer, and any supplier can restock an empty freezer. Yet so often it does not happen.

True.

But how many times have we not walked in to a store, and the minimum (salary) paid clerk seems less then eager to serve.

Most of them are there until something better pops up, so they are really not that loyal to the employer. Too many of them could not care less if the store went under.

Ha ha! This thread makes me laugh.

On another thread, there are people rabidly defending the 'mom and pop' stores from the evil influence of the mega-stores.

The above posts demonstrate quite admirably why the mega-stores are a success.

Same as the lowly paid night security guards around.

They normally sleep on duty.

You miss the point here!

I was just talking about a depress stats and low customer patronage in shops..

People stop buying! Shops do not order! Economy crise coming closer to the crash

Rumour of a coup / bank and government getting out fund …

Er....what's the point of this thread ?

If you can't get what you want in you favourite shop go to another shop, or open up your own.

One more "wanna be moderator"???

Seems to be some sort of popular thing these days.

People posting, just for the purpose of questioning the original post.

Oh no!!! I guess it means that life, as you know it, has ended. And you thought life would go out with a "bang".

Trying to stay on topic, I have heard daily on radio 88 FM Wave in Bangkok for weeks now that the world is facing food shortages. I guess it is all beginning to kick in. I was at one of the big stores the other day and they were out of many items. Instant noodles were low, some canned goods (mushrooms and beans) not in stock.

Speculative market? :o

:D

To everyone concern,

Thank for your impute!

First the shop in question are Doi Kham food products / Royal Project Products

1-It is not a mum and pop shops & glad to make you laugh Sir Burr

2-Some of they products are not for sale anywhere else Hanibal

3-Sibeymai, you look like to know where I can get this products somewhere else, please forward the place ! thank you

4-Backflip, some of us like organic and different products at time!

Ilyushin, you making a point here, perhaps it is speculative market, perhaps the intendancy of the shop is so low, no stocking and ordering are done.

Anyway for the 25% of the readers of this link who enjoy destructing and putting down other without any good good impute let me said I will keep you up to date, as to what is happening with this shop…
