What happened to Rock n Roll
Actually rock originated from a mixture of blues and R&B, along with some country and Elvis and Chuck Berry were also those who brought heavier music into the limelight. Rock started in the 50's that way, and continued with innovations until the 80's. From there it was mostly influenced by prior rock musicians, although progressive rock still expanded with more melodic soloing and keyboard use. -
