Is there still any Consular Services for the UK in Phuket? I know at one time there was a service operated near Country Furniture by a man called Alan who was I think a Vice Consul but i hear he has now retired. Does anyone know if he has been replaced or do we now have to go to BKK for Consulate Sevices? I need to get a new letter to verify my pension soon and it would be better if I can get one locally rather than from Bangkok.

Alan Cooke is Phuket's honorary UK consulate. Don't think he is retired as I used his services about 3 months back. You can catch him some days from 17.00 - 18.00 at Island Furniture. Best call him first an make an appointment 0818934200.

Do you know what kind of services he provides? (just out of interest)

I used him to notorise a copy of my UK passport. Not sure what else he can do other than render verbal assistance & advice.

.....and certify a letter for immigration showing 40k Baht/month income.

He was still there a few weeks ago as some friends used his services. If anyone knows for sure he's retired, then please post a definitive reply.
