May 23, 200817 yr There's a small new hotel at Soi 17. Coming from Soi Bukao (evening market) it's on your right side just before te crossing with 3rd road. I'm back home now but I would love to stay there next time. Can anyone tell me if they have a website. It looked really nice. Kind Regards,
May 24, 200817 yr Errmmm. Shagwell Mansions is close. It's affordable at only 600 baht/night, 4200 baht/week or 9000 baht/month in June/July.... and of course it's home to the Outback Bar which is a popular meeting place for our Friday Night Thai Visa 'meetings'. 2 bars, Free Wi-Fi, Room Service and nice clean rooms.
June 1, 200817 yr Intown holiday hotel on soi 11 has a small pool on roof that is ok for a cool dip. Hotel beds are the most comfortable for me as they are not on the hard side. 600 baht for a weekly rate in march. you can probably do better. staff is ok. nothing special there. the tv channels were good because they had bloomberg financial station, bbc and some asian news channels plus fox and one other us network. all in all a fair deal, not far from opey. I think it is much better than Opey having stayed in Opey for a few days last year. Use the laundry girls across the street, 2nd laundry down towards the water. fantastic job, cheap and nice ladies. Worth taking a detour to go there and drop off your laundry.
