Ftp Problems Using Tot Service

Featured Replies

I recently had TOT gold internet installed, and have just tried my ipswitch FTP program. I can connect to different domains but the files and folders are not listed at all. The domains are up and running and connecting to other servers rules out server problems, it must be TOT, any ideas how to resolve this...

thanks

stupid question, but its not worth checking your active/passive connection setting on your FTP client is it?

stupid question, but its not worth checking your active/passive connection setting on your FTP client is it?

passive is turned on as before

here is the log, i can connect but not list files or directories:

230 OK. Current restricted directory is /

SYST

215 UNIX Type: L8

Host type (2): Unix (Standard)

PWD

257 "/" is your current location

New connection OK. Reissuing command.

TYPE A

200 TYPE is now ASCII

PORT 192,168,1,100,197,21

Error reading response from server.

Port failed

note that the "error reading response..." message shows up when connecting to any of my domains, even different servers at different locations which leads me to believe it is my new TOT connection blocking something

I do not have problems with TOT for FTP/SFTP/SSH ports.

Did you try to turn passive mode off?

Also do you have a new router? If so check if it's not its firewall, disable it and try to FTP. Do the same with your OS firewall.

I got it resolved , thanks for the suggestions. I have the TOT billion modem bridged to a Linksys wireless router, after upgrading the firmware and then restoring factory settings, FTP is working fine.
