This guy is gonna waste his cash on some bird he met in a bar who has half a dozen farang just like him sending her money and wondering where to take her on that special holliday. Bahhhhh wake up mate get a nice girl and get over it.

The point is... you don't know that she is a bargirl... you're just assuming.. :D

...and so f@#king what anyway... :D

totster :o

Yes, so what.

The lad want's advice on where to go, not a bloody lesson on life.

And what if she is in the holesale business, as long as it's both consenting adults and nobody gets hurt. You are likely to spend your budget anyway, so its up to him how he spends it.

Don't get me wrong, I am no BG lover, I have my own opinions of them. But it is a service industry with a demand, like car hire, hotel, breakfast, massage etc.

So anyway's, someone mentioned Ko Chang. My friends went and recommended it. Laid back, fairly cheap. Ideal place to take a lady, but no good alone. Might just be the place.

Good luck. :D

:o OK Shrek you good looking fella, if you realy want some sound advice, then here it is.

--) snipped (--

"He is my best friend."

If you believe this she will think you're a poof (fag in septic-talk).

"He is my best friend."

A woman's best friend is always another woman and that's been proven.

Treat her how you WANT to treat her. If she likes the way you treat her then all is fine. If not then it's not going to work. There is no one, cast-iron, way to treat anyone. How you are determines how you get on with other people.

hmm - as this thread is way off topic since page 1 (but very amusing to read :o) I ask myself if you are still interested in some travel advice; if yes..:

I would recommend Krabi as an alternative to Phuket. They have beautiful (clean) beaches there and you can choose from romantic hideaways to lively beachfronts.

Have a nice trip!

Phuket pretty expensive and very commercialised in most places there. Samui getting the same way. May want to try Ko Chang or Ko Samet (near Pattaya in the Gulf). If you're thinking Phuket area, go for Krabi instead, a lot quieter and cheaper...ish. To get away from it all, Ko Tarutau (right down the southwest, away from Satun) is a beautiful place so I hear but only open part of the year (national marine park).

Don't listen to the miserable bleeders. If she is a bg, who gives a smeg. Just enjoy!

Oh my goodness words of sanity....thank you my friend.

BG or not she will be taken to a beach and loved,

In 2 weeks at Cholcham she took not a penny.

I can afford it and she deserves it

But she never took it.

There again shes a whore so shes damned for all time.

don't take it personally - it's good enough if YOU know she's a decent girl.

Have fun on your trip!

For nightlife, decent beaches, water quality, tourist infrastructure etc. Phuket is probably the best. It was my preference for a beach holiday with my gf (now wife) about a decade ago. A bit pricey nowadays, though. If you look around a bit I'm sure you can find something reasonable however.

Koh Chang is nice, but not much nightlife. It is now my preference for a beach holiday with my family. Driving distance from Bangkok makes it a plus as well. Great scenery, water quality. Tranquil (at least relatively).

Haven't been to Samui or Krabi.

Enjoy your holiday!

I don't know if you still out there Shrek. Phuket is good for the all around thai beach island experience. From Phuket you can take day trips to Ko Phi Phi or the islands around Krabi. The Little Mermaid hotel the Karon Beach area It is not near the beach. There is Kata Village and Kata on Sea hotels in the Kata beach area. These are less crowded beaches than Patong beach.

Krabi is nice I hear and cheaper than Phuket. It has a night life. And you can take day trips to Ko Phi Phi, etc.

I have not been to Ko Samui.

For me the Andaman Sea is nicer than the Gulf. The thing about Krabi or Phuket you can do many things. I don’t know if 2 weeks on Ko Samui will get boring. There are boat trips from Ko Samui to other islands.

Enjoy!

I would go for Phuket, try the Phuket Palace Resort and you will find big rooms, and what I think the best pool on the island, at the moment it's 900 bath a night for two people with breakfast, and if you check in together they will treat your copanion as a lady, very nice and friendly staff.

Sorry about the topic being Hijacked....

Why go so far away ... my suggestion is Koh Samet or Koh Chang, very nice places to relax and chill

Agree with Totster. Koh Samet is a nice island, good food and reasonable accom. Many Thais go there for a holiday and also Koh Chang. Forget Samui. Chawang is <deleted>. If you go to Samui its probably better to stay somewhere alse. Never been to Phuket.

Shrek..............if you fly anywhere WITHIN Thailand with your lady friend, it would be considered a domestic destination, hence she does not require a passport, just her ID card would do or any other form of picture identification.

Have a nice time! :o

Well, while I wish you the best of luck, I do so in the expectation you will need it.

I've seen too many foreigners trying to enjoy a holiday with a Thai girl they essentially do not know.

Top Tips are:

1. She will not want to sit on the beach or indeed go anywhere where she might get the sun on her.

2. There will be a constant search for something to eat, that something is likely to be Som Tam, Sticky rice or something drowned in B-Lar.

3. She will spend endless amounts of time on the mobile phone.

4. She will look totally miserable if you are not doing what she wants

5. You will miss out on fun with other holiday makers because you have to baby sit her

6. At sometime during your holiday there will be a request for a substantial amount of money, or that you purchase something that can be exchanged for a substantial amount of money.

7. If you are unable to come up with a substantial amount of money (as measured to her expectations) every penny you spend will be regarded as a penny you are not giving her. All of a sudden there will be an aversion to eating anywhere but the cheapest fly shack or staying anywhere but the cheapest doss house.

OK It might be you are lucky and none or at least only a few of these occur, but as I say I do wish you the best of luck.

:o

I think guesthouse has summed this up very nicely.

Power to you Mango, wonder why Totster is so sensitive, perhaps he has one at home????

Unfortunately Guesthouse has made many generalizations- its all about preferences and certainly every Thai is not the same.

Thank you for standing up for us, dear. I'm so sick of this <deleted>' stupid generalisation that I can't just bring myself to fight back. Some people are just beyond any help. Pray for them.

All the guys I've been with have never, ever, had any such hassles from me. Check my bikini line if you like. We always had a great time on holidays. So, don't assume others are all as sad as you are.

And by the way, I can't eat Som Tum. It makes my stomach turn upside down. I'm cursed. :o
