Anybody Know What A Bank Foreign Exchange Certificate Looks Like?

I've been given this by the bank and would like someone to tell me if this is the bank's official Foreign Exchange Certificate that they would require me to produce should I wish to send funds back to the UK. I have two more of these for larger amounts. I ask this question as there was some confusion amongst the staff in the bank.

This is not the correct document to take your money back home. You need to ask for a Tor Tor Sam. There will be no problem obtaining this from your bank.

Good question .I went last week to my TMB bank asking the manager for one .You would think that i just asked for something that he had never heard of before .I even gave him its other name which used to be a Tor Tor Sam . Finally when i produced the pay slip from my Irish Bank he went searching .After about 30 minutes he came up with what you have a Credit note .Then he asked me again did i want a Tor Tor Sam ( stupid or what ) .Then he was on the phone and said wait .After about 10 minutes he got a very poor quality of print telex through which he gave me and said is the FETF OR TT3 .

Its A4 size ,and printed on the top is Foreign Exchange Transaction Form .It is written in Thai and English .It gives your name and address and the amount and currency of the transaction and date .When my Condo purchase goes through i will give both forms to the relevant office .

242 K THB - isn't it around 8K USD???

The FETF is issued only for values of at least 20 K USD

That is correct .In my case i had sent over this amount .In the OP case the credit note that he was given is probably enough to take his money back out of the country .( but i am no expert )

I was given the exact same style bank printout as the one I've posted here for another inbound transaction in excess of $20,000 US. The bank claim that this is the Foreign Exchange Certificate/Transfer Form, or at least a couple of the staff claim that. I was dubious and need something to back up my return visit to the bank. If my doubts are correct I'm going to cause someone there to loose face :o , if I'm wrong, then I'm going to have egg on mine :D .

Apparently, few bank employees have ever seen the Foreign Exchange Transaction form (FETF), previously called Tor Tor 3, available on request for inward remittances equivalent to not less than USD 20,000

Go to http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?ac...st&id=12943, print it out (black and white is good enough) and bring it to the bank.

BINGO! Thanks a million for that Maestro, that's exactly what I've been looking for. Why does it seem so difficult sometimes to get simple correct information in LOS?
