Coming To Pattaya

Featured Replies

I'll be in Pattay in one week. I really can't wait because this is my first time heading over there. My home boy and I will be there for 3 weeks. I posted here before about we will be staying at the Shagwell Mansions. How is there weather there right now. Also do you recommend we exchange all our money that we will use for the 3 weeks or just exchange alittle at a time? Also if anyone want to show us a good time we will be happy to compel.

Weather is hot/sunny!

Exchange a little dosh at a time.

Eye Aye and then your sig would add insult to injury.. can't really express enough the benefits of travellers cheques.

Get them here commission free.

You do not say what "desert", you are coming from........LOL

Antarctica is a desert... brrrrrrr.

In the many years I have been visiting LOS, 2 - 3 times a year, I have found the best exchange is at Swampie, BKK, after one leaves airside. NO FEES

I usually change enuff for a month.

Travellers cheques, altho' more security cop, fees and taxes, you need to pay to get them, you pay again to cash them , plus tax. Real rip-off.

Even credit cards are topped with 3% tax in LOS, neva use one in shops, it will likely be copied.

No problem on internet if paying advance accommodations or air fares..

If in emergency, just withdraw cash from your home bank using your normal ATM card, one with the PLUS! symbol on it.

Ya pay tho', my NZ bank charges 5 bucks + 1% FX fee.

Visa has stopped issuing travellers cheques in many countries, not worth the handling hassles.

Happy shagging at Shagwell.........LOL

Not sure what a 'homeboy' is, is he your butler?

Check out the Outback Bar on Fridays, you will often see a large group of us Thaivisa nerds getting blasted on free tequila.

Mods - should we change the title of this thread to Coming IN Pattaya?

Edited to add, the Outback Bar is part of the Shagwell complex, behind the small pool out front.

Shagwell does sound great. I am planning to head down that way myself in September 2008 for a few days and had also planed to stay at Shagwell, let me know how you get on there, I think one of the owners is an artist from Australia Graham I seem to remember. anyhow it would be nice to meet up with some other ThaiVisa folk as I am planing a move to Thailand soon and around Pattay could be the spot I head for,

Cheers
