Attempted armed robbery involving Bangkok Taxi Driver.

Over the weekend, Khun Banjob aged 49, a taxi driver from Bangkok made a complaint to Police Lieutenant Colonel Wunlop at Dongtan Police sub-station located on Jomtien Beach.

Khun Banjob told the officer that he was waiting for a customer to use an ATM machine on the Sukumvit Road in Central Pattaya when a Thai Man aged between 25 and 30 entered the taxi and at knife-point the driver was forced to hand over 500 Baht in cash and a mobile phone.

However Khun Banjob resisted and a passer-by saw the commotion and the suspected thief decided to run away empty-handed. It is thought the drivers’ customer was part of the planned theft and both men are now being located by Police.
