A number of insurers offer travel insurance for individuals. I've used Chubb Thailand in the past. Did not have any claims, so can't comment on their claims service, other than to say that on balance Chubb tends to treat their policyholders farily well.

An alternate option to get a Kasikorn Visa card. You definately get complimentary travel insurance with gold and plat.It would seem from the following link that you also get travel accident insurance(not personal effects ?) with a standard card.
