Eastender
I believe that flights leading up to xmas are more expensive. But what about flights on xmas eve, day, and boxing day? Might these be cheaper because most people don't want to fly on these days? (I'm still waiting to hear back from a travel agaent)
Chutney
Yes they are. Also the best way to get a flight at all when it's all gone silly. However one of the most miserable New Years I ever spent was a midnight flight out of Mumbai on Royal ( Hah!) Jordanian. The penultimate moment was when the smirk in a suit told me ' Bar closed' because fellow Muslim passengers were observing Rammadam. I am a Celt. This did not go down well. cojones
everybody wants to get away hence ticket prices rise by up to 50% ! airlines know they can charge crazy prices and sell them seats !!!!!!! last year i tried booking in february for the next xmas , and was shocked to hear that seats on Thai and BA were almost gone , there was a few seats at greatly inflated prices. i decided not . if you wait till after the xmas rush prices fall back again . besides its not good at xmas /NY because everywhere is booked up , hotels, trains, planes ,buses . too many people are on the move , including millions of thais , and vast numbers of farangs .
