HELP: I have a 1 Year 'O' Multiple Entry Visa, my first 90 days is due...Do I have to apply for a Re-entry Visa.

Help; Are Border runs safe/ Do I have to apply for a Cambodian Visa BEFORE I do the 'Border Run' or they issued on arrival.

Would I be better off flying to Vietnam for a week and doing it all there. Your advice would be greatly appreciated...so many conflicting stories to deal with.

Cheers :o

Do not worry at all, making a border run is just not a big deal. Do that border crossing at the nearest place where you actually live. You do not have to go as far as Vietnam. You do not have to buy a Re-Entry permit either, because Multiple entitles you to as many entries as you wish.

Take your passport with the Multiple Non-O-Visa and the Arrival Card and leave Thailand at i.e. Aranyaprathet-Poipet latest on the day of your Stamp to Stay date. Thai immigration officers will then stamp you out of Thailand. After that you proceed to Cambodia Immigration (at the border crossing itself) and buy there a Cambodian Visa and get then stamped in into Cambodia. I am pretty sure that with US dollars or Thai bath you can buy such a visa. Once that is done you make a straight U-turn to the other side of the street and leave Cambodia again, i.e. get stamped out of Cambodia and come straight back to Thailand. If you wish you can also stay in Cambodia for a day or two.

You do not have to go to any embassy whatsoever. Check if your new Thai Stamp to Stay carries the correct date when you enter Thailand again (it is 90 days from the start date to the end date, both start and end date included). I have not been to Cambodia yet, but if you want it really very safe and easy you can do that crossing in the north either at Nong Khai or Mudkda Han.
