Are Ranong Immigration making things up as they go along? Last year to prove the money, the wage/pension slips were not enough. I ended up having to get confirmation from my ex employers, and embassy. When I got the stamp they said next year no problem, very easy and quick. I have just been down, and in the last 3 months the staff have changed. Result I am again jumping through the same hoops, with yet another trip to Bangkok. Also they said it was not a combined income of 40000 income, but 40000/month from me.

Another thing, she said I could go to the Club Andaman Casino on a border run and get a 90 stamp when I got back in Thailand. :o

Family Extension as I understand it do ask for a combined Income of THB 40000 per month by you and your wife. In other words the before-mentioned amount can consist of your Embassy Income Letter (monies coming from abroad) and your and your wife’s taxable income within Thailand. Now, figure out by yourself.

I am not familiar with Andaman Casino, maybe the officer meant that as a married man to a Thai you could get a single Non-O-Visa from a nearby consulate which would be valid for 90 days.

That is as I understood it, so last year we provided a tax receipt and my proof to show the 40K. I am so tempted to go to another province for this.

Probably your best option. If Ranong do not know the law, what can you do?

Aargh this is getting really stupid. She also wants proof of 400k in the bank, in addition to the 40000/month. Does anyone have the link to the document I need her to look at, before this gets out of hand. At this rate I am tempted tp go to Penang and get a visa based on visiting my wife in our house. I have looked for what I need to show her but I am struggling. :o TIA
