I have overstayed about 6month

I know it was stupid but I was really freaked out and afraid.

But i finally decided to do somthing.

So please give me some advice.

1.Should I go to the airport to surrender or immigration?

And if I go to local immigration and pay fine do they give me sometime to prepare to leave?

2.Before i surrender I need 20K and airplane ticket. So is it possible to buy ticket with expired visa?

3.Can I come back to Thailand soon?

4.would it be better to go immigration or airport with lawyer?

With all respect I am here to ask you some good advice.

So thank you very much and sorry for taking your times.

Have a good day.

Go to the airport with a ticket, leave the country. It is the best way to deal with it, make sure you have the money with you !

They will make you pay the max fine. You will have an overstay stamp in your passport, but that means nothing really.

You can get back in again.

If you are not sure, get a new passport , but i wouldnot even bother.

Use the search function here and look for overstay, you will find out that you are not the only one. Donot do it again! It is stupid and could cause immigration to change the rules, and than everybody suffers.

Donot get in trouble before leaving, because that willl be a different ball game, get it sorted out asap.

Excellent advice.

Yes you can buy an airline ticket. Do it ASAP. Fly to Singapore KL or wherever apply for a tourist visa & come back.

I have seen no post about a fine of 40,000 Baht being collected. Latest posts still mentioned a maximum fine of 20,000 Baht. Anyway, this maximum fine is embedded in the Immigration Act and therefore cannot be changed at the discretion of an immigration official.

You can buy a ticket online without a passport. I doubt you can get the paper ticket without going to the ticket counter and presenting one though. The 20K penalty and just being upfront about it sounds like the best plan to me. I would probably be prepared to answer some questions such as,

What were you doing?

Where did you stay?

How did you pay for everything, job, bank withdrawals etc..

Then of course you may get some nasty guy who feels like giving a farang a bad day so he can get his yearly evaluation pumped up in front of his boss, so be calm and repentent.
