I've always hated being single. It's just too much ###### WORK.

Dating, wooing, making-up, breaking-up, making-up again, looking-for-that-special-someone, etc... bleah, bleah, bleah!

It sucks!

Settling down with a nice girl has been a lifelong dream of mine. Which is odd considering the amount of time I've spent being single, but a bit of bad luck, a bit of bad timing, and the fact that I'm an a'hole, means that it hasn't been easy finding someone to put up with me on a lifetime basis.

Being single is fine, if you're under 25, but after that, it starts to really be a drag. How many times can you have that introductory "get-to-know-you" conversation with someone before it becomes a monotonous CHORE? "zzzzz.... uh wha? oh, you like the punk rock too? uh, that's great... zzzzz...."

Getting to know ONE person really initimately is FAR more interesting to me. All their little quirks, habits and special insanities would take a lifetime to learn and to savor and to enjoy, don't you agree?

I think you should get married or settle down when you are ready and naturally when you meet your soul mate. There is no time limit for this to happen!! It could happen when you are very young or rather old.

I think if you go through life being comfortable with being happy and single then there will be no rush to just settle for anything.

Totally agree with you here, mate. I've just come out of a terrible relationship. So, I'm single again. At the age of 31. But I do know I have to recover first. And be comfortable with myself before I start thinking about having a new relationship. Quite difficult when we've met a real charming bastard.

Always smart to take some time off between relationships, instead of jumping from one mess to another.
