Edge Connection To A Mac

Featured Replies

I am having a bit of a problem setting up my first Dtac EDGE internet connection , I am using a Samsung D500e Mobile phone with a Dtac SIM card that Ive been and got activated for EDGE use , Ive managed to ''Pair up '' the Samsung D500e mobile phone using its bluetooth connection to my Mac computer, ( running 10.5.3 ) and the bluetooth connection is confirmed on the Mac, so far so good now when I want to try and connect my Mac to the internet using the D500e EDGE option , I am getting stuck at the information box shown below, Can some one be kind and show me how to correctly connect my Mac to the internet using my Dtac EDGE Bluetooth connection..

Don't know anything Mac, but looking at your screen shots it seems that your Mac recognizes your Samsung as a Bluetooth dial up network (DUN).

In which case you have to use *99# as the phone number to dial, and you can leave both user name and password empty.

The *99# will tell your phone to connect to the GPRS/EDGE network. No further settings required!

What monty said, but i use *99***1# as the number instead, with no username/password.

In the second screenshot, leave username and password empty, and APN you have to set to "www.dtac.co.th" (without the brackets).

If the system does not accept empty username/password fields, you can enter dtac in both!

FYI, if you ever want to use a simcard from AIS (one2call), the APN name will then have to be "internet"

It might be possible if you use *99***1# that the system won't ask for the APN, but not sure. First try as per above!
