Hmmmm. I admit that I spent a while blaming the radio itself for the sudden change in programme content from back to back music interspaced with tolerated adverts (of mixed appeal). To the strained tones of the 'live' presenter that I have encountered over the past few days during my morning drive to the office. :o

96.0 FM used to be my prefered choice for radio in Pattaya, as of this morning when I got into the car finding that the music had gone and was displaced by monotonal inane natter again, I slipped a CD into the player and was able to enjoy back to back music but this time no longer sponsored by local aircon, PVC windows, restaurants or even The Humble Eco-saver (see thread elsewhere on this forum). Advertisers on the station please note.

Burning a CD of music takes a few minutes - and I can add my own choice of 'humorous' clips if I wish, thanks to the internet. :D

So from this day forward I can enjoy the music without the adverts, but I am only doing so to avoid the 'improvement' of a live presenter.

Like the Coke Corp. experiment with Cherry Cola :D - go back to the original - it is better.

I think its a brave move and I would hope it was successful.

I have met the DJ and when he told me his radio persona was going to be "Jonny Diamond" I burst out laughing, thinking it was joke.

Sadly, he was serious.

Good luck to them anyway. I hope the content the show becomes more interesting and is not just limited to interviewing sponsors and advertisiers.

I recently moved to Pattaya from the UK and when I heard there were radio stations here in Pattaya targeted at foreigners I jumped with joy!!!

I have listened to all the stations available and have heard the new live show on 96fm. Although it is great that we have so much choice on the radio here in Pattaya, I have to say that my favourite station....by far......is 105 fm which I think is run by Howard Miller from the TV because I keep hearing his voice on it. The variety of music is something I have never heard before, even in the UK when I used to listen to the radio every day in my Van. I am 42 years old and the music is perfect for me. I also like the new chart music they play as well. The news service is good and I particularly like the international news.

As this thread is about 96FM, I have to say that the coverage around Pattaya is not so good and the quality of the sound is not so good as well. Some of the music is a bit obscure as well and too much of the really old stuff which does not appeal to me. For me, and this is only my personal opinion, I think they should stick to the music and avoid using Live DJ's who, most of the time, do not have many interesting things to say.

I am sorry to 96 but I am afraid my radio will remain on 105fm for now.
