Couldn't find a relevant thread to reply to and so started a new one.

Just got back from Penang, applied for a Non-O single entry and, as expected was granted with no questions asked (I had all relevant docs ect.)

Not much to report asides from just HOW QUIET it was, as in QUIET I mean I was the ONLY person there when both applying for and collecting my passport/visa.

A wonderful contrast from Vientiane 3 months ago.

Was a single entry all you needed? I ask because I understand that Penang also issues multiple-entry visas to foreigners married to a Thai wife:

Yes a single entry was all that I needed, as I am now applying for a work permit and then applying for an extension of stay based upon marriage.
