Man Found with Drugs

During a routine search around the streets of Pattaya, police came across a young man who was acting suspiciously in Soi 17.

When they approached him he panicked and ran away only to be captured by officers further down the road.

When searched Mr. Piyanat had 6 yaba tablets in his possession.

And this is newsworthy because.....? :o

He had 6 Yabba tablets! Big time drug dealer! That should clean up the area from drugs.

.......because......?....Yabba is an illegal drug in Thailand and turns you mental. The Pattaya Police have taken six more tablets off the market, so people like you can't get their hands on them and create havoc.

That makes it newsworthy. :D

Besides your urge to flame, why do you think I would want to get my hands on Yaba?

I also feel such a minor case should not be in the press. It's ridiculous. Is Pattaya such a small town now? Why not show haircuts? I also feel non-violent farang deaths should also not be covered in the press, except for the OBITUARY section.

One down, three hundred thousand plus to go. This is trivial and not really in my opinion considered newsworthy

Exactly, non. I guess Pattaya People has an editor (and I use the word loosely) who can't say no. Doesn't mean Thaivisa has to follow their absurd lead, does it either?

Suggested guidelines for yabba stories:

small time user -- not news

small time dealer -- not news

small time dealer with violence -- news

big time dealer -- news

big time dealer with violence -- big news

Must have been <deleted> Yaba if the guy couldn't outrun the BiB.

It's definitely not newsworthy--that's why I didn't read it and can't be bothered to post anything about it on this thread!

Anyway, I bet those weren't for sale, but for personal consumption only.

I agree. If we'd just stop posting here, the darn thing would just go away!

We are much more powerful than that. If we'd stop posting here, it never would have happened in the first place!

do you honestly call that amount newsworthy? I changed my socks this morning from green to grey, is that newsworthy?

What dictionary are we using here? I can just see local interpol jumping head over heels on this one

I think you must be on something if you really think that
