Im just wandering, when I need something doing EG, telephone connected, bank account setup, internet banking, visa, WP, property transfers etc , I always end up signing so many forms, they get photocopied xxx amount of times , then where does it go what happens to all that paperwork, there must be loads of it, where does it all go ? any clues,do they need to keep x amount of years , is there a big warehouse somehwhere?

The strange ones only come out at night. :o

A lot of it goes to companies such as Iron Mountain that do document storage, secure shredding, etc., and most get scanned into databases instead of or in addition to vaulting. Most companies will store original paper documents and contracts for the period that the regulations in each country state they must, or until the document or contract is expired, at which point a scan will usually do fine for historical purposes.

with the number of complaints of people who deal with various groups who seem to have lost forms, orders, etc I would say they are selling the mass of paper to the recycle people who make the rounds.
