I'm trying to access the Thai Air web site to review my membership miles, but the site keeps crashing? Anyone else experiencing this? Do I have to go all the way to a TG office to get my status as the phones never answer... I'm in Jakarta right now and seriously p'd off with TG!

Thanks for any feedback on their website?

In general the Thai website has always been a large pile of <deleted>.

It must be hosted on the slowest server and about 128k bandwidth dedicated to it. It's bad enough accessing it from Laos but when I was in the UK I used to start access then leave it.

Also it's written for Internet Exploder try and use a standards brower such as Opera and you'll see the drop down calendars for booking don't work.

Toss.

Also TG fuel surcharges are getting out of control. Recently checked pricing for BKK-HKG

EK 9900

CX 12000

TG 16000

which one has the worst service/food/ife/seats.....well its not CX and EK...

Seems to be okay at the moment but I have previously experienced problems such as what you describe while trying to access my ROP mileage.

I don't think I will be using them again in the near future. Price comparisons for return trip to Kuala Lumpur next week (from BKK)

Thai 26,400

Malaysian 10,800

Air Asia 5,700

These are all economy seats. I expect a bit of price variance, but 5 times the price is taking the p1ss IMO.

I know Air Asia is crap, but for a 2 hour flight I don't really care when I'm saving over 20k.

It is becoming obvious that TG is milking the Fuel Surcharge to the extreme more than most carriers in Asia. Even travel agents are agreed TG are taking the P*ss.

I used to fly with them a lot. If you look at the BKKSIN BKKHKG routes I think their greediness is starting to show in both their ticket prices and their reducing pax loads on these routes compared to their competitors which offer a superior product at substanstial savings.

I noticed that their LON-SYD business class fares have all gone up by hundreds of pounds over the last week. Suddenly they are far from the cheapest. I was about to book a trip for December with them, but they basically ruled themselves out.

I checked BKKHGK the other day and Emirates was 188 pounds and Thai was 440. I would have thought with the ease that Thais could enter Hong Kong that Thai Air would be competetive, but I am guessing that they are counting on nationalism to get them through.

Not a customer oriented airline it seems.

Flew 2 days ago BKKHKG half full on the flight where normally it is 3/4 / Full on the peak time one....Hope they realise that people are not stupid and will accept a reasonable increase in fares due fuel prices but 20%-25% on some tickets is blatant robbery.

Typical TG they dont see the future implications of their decisions. UNLESS it is part of their master plan to announce reducing pax loads and therefore justifies major cutbacks on routes / staff / a/c orders that are inevitable if they continue down this path.

I used to fly them 4 or 5 times per month but no more until they get back down to earth with their prices. They have lost another gold orchid plus member along with 2 others I know. I'll stick to CX,SQ and EK for my travel and enjoy the savings plus the better food, seats, ife and wine!

Thai going to the pot.

From NZ they upped the fuel surcharge, sunfin like $NZ200.00.

Now they seem to going to cut direct flites.

Most flites already mostly sold out for months, and they are sure doing the milking.

I was told that the increase in the fuel surcharge was due to rising cost. To me there are too much inefficiencies in THAI so much so that the President has been asked to quit.

What a shame! I used to travel TG quite a fair bit until the overprice surcharge. We will see how it will affect the passenger load factor!

40 pax on the BKK-Shanghai flight today. And all the bread rolls in the world. They won't cancel these 'turnaround' flights - but do tend to cancel similarly empty flights if they require the crews to stay overnight.

Like many here - I got the gold card and so flew regularly - but CX and SQ's landing gear compartment would be better.

Good old Thai Air.

So I check out the prices of TG for a return BKK-LHR-BKK (Biz Class - I'm 6'8" in stilettos) - Lo and Behold it's the priciest seat on the market at THB139K+++. Qatar on the other hand was an incredibly sexy sounding THB69K. Thrown in was a new aircraft, food you can actually eat, freebies that could be sold on at ebay, a massive tele all to yourself and a brief stop over in a place I've never heard of before but which would be great for building sandcastles on.

TG - you're already over-charging for what these days amounts to little more than budget airline standards = this means, I know, your seats are already emptying as news travels faster than your website = this means you're now canceling flights = this means that you're now laying off staff = this means your staff morale is taking a nose dive ... and so is the name of Thailand's flagship carrier

But i guess the good news is that your senior management are still lining their pockets

what a disgrace.

Thai is really trying hard to lose its customers and go under.

This is so there will be more seats available for all the employees and families and relatives of employees to use their free flight privileges.

The management doesn't care because the airline can always be subsidized.

Their website must be run by some computer science undergrad because I have been trying for months to update my profile with no success. Don't bother emailing because you won't get a reply until like 6-8 weeks with a response saying "Sorry we couldn't help with your request hopefully next time we could be of better service."

The mileage program has cheated me of many miles not registering. I have to send in my passes everytime to get the mileage credited. And if I want to request a reward, by the time I get a flight available the mileage already expired.

Their prices are ridiculous to the point where if I know someone that flys on Thai I think of three things:

1) You must be a relative of or are THAI employee.

2) You must be either a royal or have something to do with the government to fly with THAI.

3) You must be really stupid to pay ridiculous prices are get ripped off.

I ended up booking with them for my trip to Sydney and Bangkok for Christmas. Got a price I'm happy with, barely £100 more than I paid in May. Will take me up to ROP gold meaning I should get a free upgrade next time.
