Tot Internet

I have TOT's "2Mbit" service that you wont be surprised to hear limps along at sub dial up speeds for much of the time. They supplied their standard GMesh GM-301 modem which, apart from being less than obvious when it came to setting up port forwarding, behaves in an innocuous fashion and I'm wondering if there's anything to be gained by changing it.

Not very likely to get much from that. I tried that on my TOT and all I got was a little more stable modem connection, but not more bandwidth.

TOT is completely bogged down on international bandwidth, so much so that even on their expensive business packages speed is abysmal!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but as I write (Sun 18.20) my connection is struggling to download an email attachment at a paralysingly slow 5.8kB/sec. Still, it does seem to be different depending on where you live so your mileage may vary, as they say.

You shouldn't feel sorry for that, 5.8 Kb/sec is my usual download speed.TOT 2 Mb connection
