Tax Laws Of Thailand

Featured Replies

Does anyone have a link to where i can find the translated version of the Thailand tax laws?

If you are looking for the detailed text of the complex statutes, I cannot help.

If you are just looking for English-language version of the common tax rules, see:

http://www.rd.go.th/publish/6000.0.html

Thai-language versions of tax law may be downloaded at:

http://www.lawreform.go.th/lawDocumentDeta...D=9&groupType=L

Cheers!

I'm trying to acsertain what is taxable and what itsnt, from an employee's point of view. My company accountant has some very strange ideas about what i have to pay tax for and i'm just trying to work out if i'm being taken for a ride or not.

The Revenue Code 2004 can be purchased from CU Books in Siam Sq. Real door-stopper of a book though.

Not aware of any internet download in English, beyond the general rules set-out on the Revenue Dept.'s website - which Indo kindly linked.

I'm having a right game here...

Maybe if i clarified the situation i might be able to get some better tailored advice.

At a company function, i recieved a prize from a lucky draw (everyones name in a hat, someones name gets drawn out). The company accountant is now telling me i now have to pay tax on this prize, is this true?

did you won a car? so far i know anything else is not taxable but again.... TiT :o

Or maybe the accountant wants the prize that you've won and making it hard for you.

Explorer :D

any money/goods in excess of 500 or 1,000 Baht (not sure about the exact amount) won in a lottery/raffle etc. are subject to 5% withholding tax.

the amount has to be declared on the annual tax returns form and the 5% already paid is deducted from your overall tax dues.
