Searched already I swear...

I have a non-immigrant O visa that expired 9 Aug 2008. At the border I got a stamp for an extra 3 months. Is this visa now extended or expired? Can I still use this visa to apply for a Thai driving license?

I'd love to have some solid info when I get to the transport office

Your visa has expired on the date indicated and it has not been extended; but you are here on a non immigrant visa permitted to stay stamp so that should fulfill transport requirements. If you had entered on a single entry non immigrant O visa it would have expired on entry - you stay here on permitted to stay stamps.
