More illegal items being sent by post

BANGKOK: -- The Thai Post Office Company today reported an increase in the number of illegal items being sent by post, with pornographic CDs and sexual performance drugs topping the list.

Miss Anusura Jitmitraphab, assistant manager of the Thai Post Office Co. Ltd., blamed the rise on Internet companies which used post office boxes from which to sell illegal products.

Calling on the Thai public to exercise vigilance and report any instances of illegal trading, she said that the Thai Post Office Company had already managed to close down several post office box numbers.

Nonetheless, she admitted that the Thai Post Office company had no powers to take other action against the offending companies, and that in many cases criminal charges could not be pressed due to a lack of complainants.

Illegal goods being peddled via local post offices included pornographic CDs and VCDs, as well as sexual performance drugs, she said.

Time for a crackdown on victimless crime....Time to draw a line in the sand, I didn't watch my buddys die face down in the mud just so these freaks can watch porn and jerk off for twelve hours straight

I do send occassionally computer software on CD, not pornographic.

The regular courrier-companies refuse to accept without licence to prove that it is not a copy.

So, put it in a padded envelope an send byt reegular airmail. No problem.

How would they know that the Cd's were pornographic, unless they watched them. That being so, then it could cause no offence to anyone, were it not watched.

It would be a big help if Miss Anusura Jitmitraphab addressed the problem of theft by her employees than worry about cds and Vees.

ah , but Sex and Viagra make headlines, petty theft does not.

maybe if the emloyees were stealing porn dvds and viagra. :o

That is right, blame it all on the Internet and PO box holders.

It is easier to blame others and not look at yourself!!

If the Post Office would guarantee to deliver mail reliably, without theft, or simple dumping, we would not need PO boxes!!!
