Maestro Posted September 4, 2008 Share Posted September 4, 2008 Aare you talking about marriage of a foreign woman to a Thai man? No petition needed for the woman to travel to Thailand to marry. She just gets a regular tourist visa or non-O visa, flies to Thailand, marries, and that’s it. Then she applies at her local immigration office for annual extensions to live with her husband. lopburi3 Posted September 4, 2008 Share Posted September 4, 2008 The question was about visa entry - there is no petition requirement to enter Thailand and be married. It can be done on a tourist visa or even a visa exempt entry. To travel to the US and some other countries a Thai would need to petition Immigration prior to applying for a visa if the intent was marriage.
