I am living in Pai. But I broke up with g/friend so I am looking for a place to go which is easy, and not too expensive.

I want to stay away from places like Pattaya and BKK and Chiang Mai where I will be tempted to drink alcohol or sit in bars.

I have thought of Udon Thani, Ubon Ratchathani, etc. but it seems like everything routes through BKK and it costs 100 bucks to go everywhere.

Any ideas where I can go without a hassle and where it's affordable? By affordable, I mean that I pay a total of 5,000 baht a month for a very nice house here in Pai.

Also, what route would I take from Chiang Mai to get to where you recommend? I really need a break and have no ideas.

Do you mean like move? What are your goals besides not sitting in a bar and drinking? Like to swim, fish, sunbathe, explore, walk on the beach, eat?
