Experts successfully defuse bomb planted inside national stadium

BANGKOK, Nov 22 (TNA) - Bomb experts this morning successfully defused an explosive planted inside the compound of the National Stadium here, according to local journalists.

The bomb experts managed to defuse the explosive within 10 minutes, said the journalists.

They rushed to the scene after being reported by police of Pathumwan Police Station who were alerted by a witness reportedly seeing 'a suspected object looking like a bomb' in a dust bin, just about 200 metre from the outdoor stadium, the journalists disclosed.

The police assumed that the hand grenade was planted by a group of teenagers watching a world women football match yesterday.

"It's likely that the bomb was abandoned in the dust bin by a group ot teenagers attending the world women football match yesterday. Given strick security check-ups before entering the stadium, the teenagers were believed to leave the bomb in the dust bin", said the police.

The dust bin was located in front of the Department of Physical Education, and near a car park, according to the journalists. (TNA)--E002
