The bottle of "Wine Sauerkraut" which I bought in Foodland says to store in the fridge after opening, then consume within 12 days.

Is that true?

I surely can't consume all of it that soon as I live alone with an occasional visitor.

Is there a way I can preserve all of it without spoiling?

p.s. It's pretty good stuff for my taste. It's less sour than the other brands I've tried. Cheers! :o

Sauerkraut does not hold up well to the freezing process and looses flavor---------so I'm told

If it's just plain kraut it is made by the fermenting process and it should keep well in a tightly closed container in the fridge for 2 or 3 months.

Just like pickles, they stay good for a long time.
